From the moment I arrived, I was amazed by its grand structure, elegant towers, and peaceful atmosphere. The mosque’s design beautifully combines traditional Chinese elements with Islamic architecture, creating a unique and harmonious style. Walking through the mosque, I felt a deep sense of history and tranquility. It’s a place that represents faith, tradition, and cultural harmony in China. If you ever visit Gejiu or Honghe, this mosque is definitely worth exploring!

📍Located in Gejiu, Yunnan, I rented a car and drove from Mengzi Honghe Station, about 20 km and a half-hour drive. 📷The afternoon light is excellent, and the refracted sunlight can create starbursts in photos. The light and shadow inside the building are enchanting, with a comfortable warm yellow hue. I was lucky to experience a clearing sky after rain at sunset, and the entire building looked stunning under the blue-purple sky. 👍️If you have enough time, be sure to wait for a prayer service. There are five services daily, except on special days, with separate halls for men and women. Visitors are allowed to observe and take photos outside the halls. 👉The five prayer times are 6:20, 13:30, 17:30, 18:50, and 19:55, each lasting about half an hour. I watched the Asr prayer (17:30). Shoes must be removed before entering the hall, and silence should be maintained.

The hall in the middle is where men pray, and the hall on the right is where women pray. It has a large space; 🔘Pray at five times a day: morning prayer/noon prayer/feeding prayer/evening prayer/night prayer. The time can be checked on the official account. We went there just in time for the noon prayer at 13:30. The scene was quite spectacular. If the time is right, you can stay and listen to it and experience a different religious belief; 🔘Women cannot enter the temple without headscarves. We did not enter the temple to respect the Muslim faith; 🔘Please do not make loud noises during prayers and do not enter the main hall to disturb others.

Before, I heard that the largest mosque in Asia was actually in a small town in Honghe, and I was just curious and wanted to go see it. I didn't expect to find it so beautiful after I went there, and I stayed for an afternoon without wanting to leave. The location is in Shadian, Honghe, one day away. You can navigate to the Shadian Mosque. It is very close to Jianshui, less than half an hour by car. You can also take a look when you go to Jianshui. It is very convenient to take a taxi from the train station and it only takes more than ten minutes. Personally, I think it's worth a visit. The mosque has five prayer times every day. It is recommended to go around 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm in the afternoon. There will be sunlight in the main hall in the afternoon, and the light and shadow will be beautiful. The evening light is also good. Non-Muslims and women are not allowed to enter the main hall. Visiting is only allowed in the outer corridor, and do not wear too revealing clothes. Please wear long sleeves and long clothes as much as possible and respect others' beliefs. The security guards are very friendly, they can chat with you and even guide you on where to take photos. However, during prayer time, they will ask for silence. Overall, it is a beautiful and exotic mosque worth visiting, and you can also take beautiful photos there.
