Gannan is home to Langmu Temple, the "Little Switzerland of the East" that straddles Sichuan and Gansu, Labrang Monastery, one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world, as well as the stunning Lianbaoyeze and the First Bend of the Yellow River. Our trip to Gannan lasted 7 days. We visited popular attractions as well as hidden gems, covering almost all the highlights of Gannan. July 26: Jiuzhi–Awancang Wetland–Langmu Temple (Sichuan Temple)–Namo Grand Canyon Attractions: Nyingma Monastery (the largest prayer wheel), Langmu Temple (Sichuan Temple, also known as Geerdi Temple), hiking a short section of Namo Grand Canyon. July 27: Langmu Temple (Gansu Temple, also known as Saichi Temple)–Lanzhou Airport–Shanghai Attractions: Saichi Temple, the last stop of our trip to Gannan. The architecture was stunning. Today was a travel day. We set off at 9 am for Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. We flew from Lanzhou to Shanghai and took a chartered car back to Jiaxing. We arrived home safely. Tips: 1.
