Mandarin Oriental, Muscat, Oman, Superior Sea View Room: After talking about the St. Regis Muscat, let's talk about the Mandarin Oriental Muscat, which also opened this year. If I remember correctly, this hotel first appeared as the Mandarin Oriental Apartments. Even though I still don't understand the logic behind it, any luxury hotel with the word "apartment" in its name is likely to be downgraded in all aspects... Because of this, my expectations for this hotel were very low before I came (a world of difference from my expectations for the Qianmen Mandarin Oriental). So I was blown away when I arrived. First of all, the front desk staff are very good at chatting, and I haven't had such a pleasant conversation with a hotel front desk in a long time. Because I thought the hotel was not up to standard, I booked a basic room, and the hotel upgraded me to a sea view room (overall, the sea view of this hotel is average, as is the St. Regis, the best sea views in Muscat are at the Ritz-Carlton and Jumeirah). Secondly, the room is very similar to the photos on the hotel website, and if you look closely, you will find that the construction details are definitely first class in Oman. The furniture is of good quality, much better than the St. Regis in the same city. The hotel's welcome gifts and gifts are also great. Next, I would like to highlight the food and beverage. On the night of my stay, I tried the hotel's Mediterranean restaurant. The restaurant staff are generally young, several male staff members are particularly good-looking, and their English is generally good. Although it was the off-season and not a weekend, the Mandarin Oriental's restaurant and lobby bar were almost full in the evening (the restaurant's common language is English, I hardly heard any Arabic)... I later learned that it has been like this almost every day since it opened, in stark contrast to the St. Regis, which is a testament to the success of the Mandarin Oriental brand in the Middle East. The restaurant's dishes are mainstream, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is friendly, definitely worth a try!
