I'm already missing Victoria.
There are generally 4 options for non-self-driving travel from Vancouver to Victoria. The first is to join a day tour departing from Vancouver, the second is to take a seaplane directly to Victoria, the third is to take the BC Ferries Connector operated by Wilson's Group to Victoria, and the fourth is to take public transportation to Victoria and back in one day.
Public transportation is simply a combination of bus + ferry + bus.
🚌Vancouver Bus: Take the 620 bus from the bus station under the Bridgeport station of the Canada Line to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. It's a double-decker bus and you can use a Compass Card.
🚢Ferry: BC Ferries, between Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. There are many departures throughout the day. You can buy tickets in advance on the official website. Some departures have discounted prices. You can change the number of people, date, and departure up to 2 hours before the ferry departs. The difference in price will be refunded or supplemented after the change. You can cancel before 12:00 the day before. Arrive at the terminal half an hour before departure to exchange for a paper ticket. If you arrive too early or too late, you may not be able to exchange your ticket. If you're lucky, you can see killer whales during the voyage.
🚌Victoria Bus: Routes 70, 71, and 72 run between Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and Legislature Exchange (downtown Victoria). Route 75 runs between Butchart Gardens and Legislature Exchange. Route 82 runs between Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and Butchart Gardens. Ask the driver to buy a DayPass (CAD 5/person) when you get on the bus. Only cash is accepted, no change is given, and Compass Cards are not accepted.
Here is the actual itinerary for the day for reference:
The 620 bus departs from Bridgeport Station at 6:45, arrives at Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal at 7:18 to exchange for a paper ticket, the ferry departs at 8:00, arrives at Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal at 9:35, the 72 bus departs from the terminal at 9:57, arrives at Saanichton Exchange at 10:28 to transfer to the 75 bus departing at 10:33, arrives at Butchart Gardens at 10:51, the 75 bus departs from the park gate at 12:52, arrives at Legislature Exchange at 13:39, the 71 bus departs from Legislature Exchange at 16:05, arrives at Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal at 17:16 to exchange for a paper ticket, the ferry departs at 18:00, arrives at Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal at 19:35, the 620 bus departs from the terminal at 19:55, and arrives at Bridgeport at 20:25. The bus and ferry schedules may be updated. Please refer to the official latest schedule for details.
It takes about two hours to take a quick tour of Butchart Gardens. There are many people during the peak tourist season and the tickets are not cheap. The Victoria Parliament Building is free to visit. You need to go through a security check to enter. You can sit on the steps at the entrance to enjoy the view and the breeze. Generally speaking, a day trip to Victoria from Vancouver requires an early start and a late return, and most of the time is spent on the road. You also need to choose which attractions to visit. Therefore, if time permits, it's more relaxing to stay on the island for one night in terms of both physical strength and sightseeing.

The garden of your dreams!!
I’ve been here for all four seasons. But summer is my favourite time! The gardens are in full bloom, so many different varieties of flowers and trees! It’s so colourful. They have a cute gift shop and snack or tea restaurant inside the gardens.
Sometimes in the summer there is even a firework show and you can grab a picnic blanket and sit out in the lawn.
But I love the most is the sunken gardens, Japanese gardens and the lovely indoor merry go round!

Canada Charming Beauty. Butchart
Fabulous Butchart Gardens spread out on Vancouver Island are visited by a huge number of tourists every year.
The Butchart Gardens are one of Victoria's most popular attractions. Paths meander among blooming gardens, lead to ponds, fountains and waterfalls, pass through wooden bridges laid over murmuring streams and numerous observation decks, pavilions and lawns. Butchart Gardens provide a unique opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of bright colors and fragrant flowers.
The Butchart Gardens were laid out on the territory of a former quarry that mined lime for cement production in the early 1900s. After some time, the abandoned quarry was turned into a blooming garden. In 2004, Butchart Gardens celebrated its 100th anniversary. The Sunken Garden, Tea Houses and Rose Garden are an internationally recognized landmark in the Butchart Gardens.
The history of flower gardens in Victoria began many years ago, when entrepreneur Robert Pym Butchart and his wife Jenny Butchart moved to Victoria from Ontario. It was at that time that the Canadian Pacific Railway was reconstructing bridges, the wooden structures of which were replaced by concrete ones. According to rumors, Butchart accidentally found out that there are lime deposits in the Gulf of the sea near Victoria, the reserves of which made it possible to organize cement production here. In 1904, the Vancouver-Portland Cement Company began cement production. The lime deposits were exhausted in the next few years and the quarry was closed, but the plant continued to work for some time, supplying tiles and flower pots to the market. The production was finally closed in 1950. The tall pipe left over from the old furnace still reminds of the former factory.
Jenny Butchart was amazed by the pristine nature of Canada's west coast. She had every reason to believe that the mild climate would create all the necessary conditions for gardening in this region. Jenny Butchart personally sowed the first flowers in front of her house. In 1908, with the help of designer Isaburo Kishida, a beautiful Japanese garden was laid out. At the site of the quarry, work began on laying the Sunken Garden (work ended in 1921), and in 1929 a beautiful Rose Garden was founded with more than 100 species of hybrid tea roses and 400 grandiflora and climbing roses.

The last time I came to the Butchart Garden was the autumn half a year ago, and the garden flowers and dahlias in the garden were full of competition. The most beautiful garden is no exaggeration.
"About Butchart Gardens"
Buchat Garden is actually a private garden. In 1906, Mrs. Butchart, who was operating a cement factory with her husband, wanted to build a dream garden. So she collected the seeds of the world and carefully cultivated them in a deserted cement mine. In 1912, Mrs. Butchart's idea was supported by her husband, and this year she was put into action. She used the seeds collected from around the world to build this dream garden.

The most beautiful garden in the world, the stunning spring
Buchart Gardens in Canada was built in 1904. The original site of the garden was an abandoned limestone pit that used to supply raw materials for the cement plant. Starting with a few pea flowers and roses that were originally planted, today's flower-filled gardens can already play the spring symphony. The garden was selected as one of the top ten gardens in the world by several publications such as USA Today and National Geographic.
2004 Butchart Garden was named "Canada National Historic Site".
The garden covers an area of 22 hectares with more than 900 different species of more than 1 million plants.
Spring, tulips, daffodils and hyacinths make the air full of colorful aromas. It is wonderful to stroll,
adult ticket 175 yuan (RMB); child ticket 12 yuan (RMB) 5-12 years old available, youth ticket 88 yuan (RMB) 13-17 years old available,

The cement trader converted the mine into a private garden
to Victoria in Vancouver. If you dont go to Butchart Gardens, you can say that you are in Baoshan but you are empty-handed. And return. This private garden, which is open and attracts millions of people from all over the world, is not only a four-season flower, but also a garden landscape.
The reason why Butchart Gardens was named "Canada National Historic Site" in 2004 was because it was originally a limestone mine called "Buchat" cement merchant; since Mr. Buicks retirement, Mrs. Butchart is about to The mine was converted into a garden, which is really an environmentally friendly model and guardian. If you want to find out the original appearance of the mine, you can only sit on the bench of the "sinking garden", fantasy and marvel! Since the lady led the children and grandchildren to collect exotic flowers and plants from all over the world, there are also "Japanese Garden" and "Italian Garden", which are all beautiful.
In the middle of the garden, there is a fountain with a water column of 21 meters. It was built in 1964 by the Buchart couple's grandson Ross for the 60th anniversary of the garden. As a result, the Butchart family has invested more than one gardening and sightseeing reception. century.
captured happiness.
Listening to the name may make people think that Butchart Gardens is just a small garden courtyard, but here is a 22-hectare flower kingdom.
This is a paradise for gardeners, photographers and romantics. Different seasons will have different flowers blooming. A girl from the same company has already visited 3 times, each time is different. scene. Strolling through the winding roads, through the tall trees and velvety lawns, the name and the more exotic flowers and flowers are all around, and the different themed gardens are designed with the help of the terrain.
Japanese garden, Italian garden, rose garden... A garden courtyard with different themes has the magic that makes me stop and be amazed and obsessed. But the most amazing, or unforgettable, must be Sunken Garden, which was transformed by Jennie Butchart. If you don't look at the old photos, who can think of the garden in the Garden of Eden, which was gradually transformed from the deep pit left by the mining of her husband's factory.
Especially recommended for afternoon tea in The Dining Room in the garden - eating a variety of desserts surrounded by fragrant and "beauty", watching the light and shadow outside the window, life is nothing but life.
