Hangzhou, a city that sparkles even brighter as the sun sets, offers a plethora of nighttime adventures that I've been lucky enough to experience. From serene cruises to cultural squares, there's something magical about Hangzhou after dark. Let me share some of the city's not-to-be-missed attractions!
🌌 Qiantang River Night Cruise
Address: Water Tourism Service Center of Binjiang Wharf, Binjiang District, Hangzhou
Feel the evening breeze on your face as you take in the dazzling night views of the Qiantang River. It's a meaningful journey that showcases the economic and cultural vibrancy of Hangzhou's riverbanks. The 45-minute cruise, sometimes accompanied by a light show, offers a unique perspective of the city's hustle and bustle. Despite the crowds, the experience is well worth it for the panoramic views and the romantic atmosphere.
🛶 West Lake Cruise
Address: West Lake Cruise Pier, Hangzhou City
West Lake is even more enchanting from the deck of a boat. With various piers offering different ticket prices, you can enjoy a scenic ride to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. Despite the heat or rain, the allure of the lake's beauty is undeniable. Whether you're seeking romance in the rain or sweating it out for the perfect shot, a West Lake cruise is a quintessential Hangzhou experience.
🏰 The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (Hangzhou Section)
Address: No. 208, Huancheng North Road, Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province
Travel through time on the Grand Canal, a magnificent man-made marvel dating back over 2,500 years. The Hangzhou section offers picturesque views and a chance to witness the city's transformation. The 2.5-hour night cruise is a spectacle, featuring live music and breathtaking scenery. It's a testament to the ingenuity of ancient China and a must-see for any visitor.
🎭 West Lake Cultural Square
Address: North side of Wulin Square Canal, Huancheng North Road, Xiacheng District, Hangzhou (near Stadium Road)
The heart of Hangzhou's urban buzz, West Lake Cultural Square is a hub of activity day and night. The nighttime fountain shows and the glow of the surrounding buildings create a lively and beautiful atmosphere that captures the essence of Hangzhou's cultural scene.

Escape the summer heat and venture into the cool depths of Lingqi Wonderland Cave. Comprising three distinct caves, this natural wonder offers a respite from the heat and a journey through an "underground art palace." The caves, each with their unique features, provide a breathtaking backdrop for a variety of films and shows. I would be sad if anyone missed the night view here in Hangzhou
A Gongchen Bridge, half of Hangzhou's history
When traveling to Hangzhou, be sure to leave one night here whether for sightseeing, checking in, or the historical culture carried by this route is worth savoring slowly. You can start strolling from the evening
Feel the slow life from day to night on the old street by the canal, and you can also experience Hangzhou's characteristic water bus to tour the scenery on both sides of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. When night falls and the lights are on, watch the boats shuttle on the canal
The light is sprinkled on the water, sparkling, and there is a feeling of dreaming back to the Tang Dynasty
Route arrangement:
Take a boat from Wulinmen Wharf⏩Gongchen Bridge⏩Qiaoxi Historical and Cultural Street⏩Xiaohe Straight Street⏩Eat and watch the night view
Travel tips:
❤️It only costs 3r to take a water bus at Wulinmen Wharf. The boat sails along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. There are many ancient buildings on both sides, as if seeing the prosperity of a thousand years ago
❤️Gongchen Bridge is the tallest and longest stone arch bridge in Hangzhou, witnessing Hangzhou's prosperity by the river, it is a landmark of Hangzhou
❤️The entrance to Qiaoxi Cultural Street is next to Gongchen Bridge. It has witnessed the architectural features and strong market atmosphere of local city construction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The Umbrella Museum, Fan Museum, Sword Museum, and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Museum are all here
❤️Xiaohe Straight Street has gathered many literary and artistic shops, you can slow down and take pictures here, drink coffee, stroke cats, and daze. The New Year lanterns decorated during the Spring Festival are full of atmosphere~ Find a small pub by the river at night, drinking and eating while watching the night view, it's so cozy~
❤️If you have enough time, you can also go to Xiangji Temple, take a stroll on Dadou Road, and feel the charm of the Jiangnan Water Village with white walls, black tiles, and wooden doors

🕘Operating hours: 7:00-18:54
Line 1 stops: 6 stops along the way, namely: Puji Station, Genshanmen Station, Wulinmen Wharf, Xinyifang Station, Gongchen Bridge, and Yunhe Tiandi Station
✅There are 5 museums within 1 km of Gongchen Bridge, the area with the highest concentration of museums (Jinghang Grand Canal Museum/Fan Museum/Umbrella Museum/[Knife] Scissors and Sword Museum/Arts and Crafts Museum). There is also the popular Xiahe Straight Street in Citywalk
✅The Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Museum and Zhejiang Provincial Natural History Museum near Wulinmen are popular indoor places for children. Tickets are hard to come by during the summer holidays.
Tour suggestions:
①The boats depart strictly according to the timetable, see the picture for specific times.
②There are few vacant seats on the way, so be sure to go to the starting station. You can only board if someone gets off at a stop.
We took Line 1 of the subway from Zhalongkou Exit D to Puji Wharf, took a boat to Gongchen Bridge, and walked about 700 meters to the Grand Canal Museum. We mainly learned about the history and culture of the Grand Canal. The China Fan Museum, China Umbrella Museum, and Knife and Sword Museum are all under one roof, a wonderful confluence of two traditional crafts. Turn left to meet the world of umbrellas🌂, and turn right to the world of knives and swords✂. Each exhibit embodies our daily lives and the spirit of craftsmanship. It's really a great place to visit! These museums are very close to each other, and it's impossible to visit each one slowly without a day. I could only take a quick look and take photos as a souvenir. You can get a stamp at each place as a souvenir. I recommend preparing a small notebook before you go, so you can get stamps anywhere

A Water Silk Road Connecting the Past and Present
The Grand Canal is the longest man-made canal in the world, stretching over 1,800 kilometers. It has been the most important inland waterway in China since ancient times. Along the canal, you can appreciate the local customs and feel the long history of Chinese civilization. In the cities along the canal, you can see well-preserved ancient canal docks, warehouses, and shops, as if you have traveled back to the bustling commercial era. Additionally, visitors can take a boat tour along the canal, enjoying the scenery along the way while reminiscing about the historical legends of this 'Water Silk Road' that connects the past and present. This unique canal is undoubtedly a perfect destination to savor slowly.

Hangzhou Grand Canal section is one the few sections that are still being used. And this is great because it means that you can take a boat trip. That will be a pleasant journey, but! My suggestion would be to walk along the canal from Gongchen Bridge all the way to Wulin Square after 6 PM when they put the lights on. Grand Canal is not very popular with tourists yet, mainly locals come here for walks, so you can escape the crowds.

This winter, the first snow in Hangzhou, collecting a canal and snow. The whole world seems to have a warm and tender light.
The blue-smoke birds on the river, the boats in the canal are still busy in the snow, the dogs in the road meet in the snow, and the atmosphere in the cold air is booming.
Unfortunately, any camera record is not as happy as witnessing it, snowy day is happy~
Is your city snowing?
You don't come again, I am going to snow.

The Grand Canal of China, the world cultural heritage, was built in 486 BC in the Spring and Autumn Period. It consists of three major sections and ten sections of the Grand Canal, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Zhedong Canal. It spans 27 rivers and 58 heritage sites in 27 cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang provinces, with a total length of 2,700 kilometers (including 1011 kilometers of heritage rivers). It is the canal with the earliest time, the largest scale, the longest route and the longest lasting time in the world. It is listed as the most influential waterway by the International Industrial Heritage Protection Committee in the International Canal Heritage List.
China's Grand Canal spans more than 10 latitudes of the Earth, running through China's most prosperous North China Plain and Jiangnan Water Town, from the north to the south, reaching the Haihe River, the Yellow River, the Huaihe River, the Yangtze River and the Qiantang River. The great arteries of ancient north-south traffic represent the outstanding achievements of the water conservancy and water transport project before the industrial revolution, and have had a tremendous and far-reaching impact on China and even the history of the world. After the change of transportation to shipping in the late Qing Dynasty, the status of the Grand Canal declined. The Chinese Grand Canal and the Great Wall and Kaner Well have become three great projects in ancient China and are symbols of the great spirit of the Chinese nation.

As a tourist, my choice for the carry-on bag is Doughnut, which is the favorite one in my carry-on bag. It is especially suitable for this kind of trip that requires a lot of documents. She has the following advantages: 1, the color is good-looking, before the backpack is good, the quality of the brand is big, the package is only very dull color can choose, not suitable for girls; 2, the texture is good, the first look is like a canvas bag, I don't like canvas The bag will soon fade and become obsolete. Doughnut's bag looks like canvas. It is actually a durable and durable polyester fabric. It is water-resistant and ordinary. It can be removed with a damp cloth. It's great! 3, more than one layer and exquisite layout design, especially suitable for travellers who need to bring traffic cards, passports, ID cards, various customs clearance materials, cups, umbrellas also have independent storage, the inner layer has thick and soft notebook Compartment design, perfect~
