Visiting the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris offers a memorable travel experience for several reasons:
1. **Scenic Views**: The basilica is situated on Montmartre Hill, providing one of the best panoramic views of Paris. The climb up the steps or the funicular ride adds to the experience, allowing you to appreciate the cityscape.
2. **Architectural Beauty**: The basilica's Romanesque-Byzantine architecture is impressive, with its white dome and intricate detailing. The design contrasts with the Gothic structures found in other parts of Paris.
3. **Historical and Cultural Significance**: Opened in 1914, Sacré-Cœur is a relatively modern addition to Paris's historical landscape. It reflects a blend of religious and political history, as it was built in response to the Franco-Prussian War.
4. **Artistic Interior**: The interior of the basilica is adorned with beautiful mosaics, including the grand mosaic of Christ in Majesty. The vast, serene space provides a tranquil respite from the bustling city.
5. **Neighborhood Charm**: Montmartre itself is worth exploring, with its charming streets, cafes, and artist studios. The area has a bohemian vibe and offers a glimpse into the artistic history of Paris.
Overall, a visit to Sacré-Cœur is both a visual and cultural treat, combining stunning architecture, historical depth, and vibrant neighborhood life.

Basilica de Sacre Coeur 🇫🇷
#churches
The Basilica de Sacre Coeur is an absolute gem that you can’t miss if you're in Paris! 🗼 Nestled at the highest point of the city in Montmartre, the views alone are worth the visit. The basilica itself is free to enter, which is amazing given its beauty. There’s a small fee (about 7 euros) if you want to climb up to the dome, but trust me, the panoramic view of Paris is totally worth every penny! 🌆 I went up just before sunset, and watching the city lights twinkle as the sun dipped below the horizon was magical. 🌅
The interior of Sacre Coeur is equally breathtaking. The ceiling mosaics, especially the one of Christ in Glory, are incredibly detailed and vibrant. It’s a peaceful space despite the number of visitors. I spent some time sitting in the pews, just soaking up the atmosphere and admiring the architecture. 🕊️
After visiting the basilica, I wandered around the Montmartre district, which is full of charming cobbled streets, art shops, and cozy cafes. Don’t miss the nearby Place du Tertre, where local artists sell their work and offer portrait sketches. 🎨 It’s like stepping into a different era, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern Paris.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris known as Sacré-Cœur is a historic white domed church in Paris. The interior is really nice with mosaics and stained-glass windows. The place also offers a great view of Paris. It can get really busy with tourists so bring your patience here. However, it is worth your time as it is a beautiful church and as a bonus, you get a nice view of Paris. Great picture opportunities here as well. Located in Paris’ 18th Arrondissement, the Montmartre district is built atop a large hill overlooking the city.
Montmartre is primarily known for its artistic history, the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur on its summit, as well as a nightclub district.
It is frequented by tourists and locals alike and is especially popular for picnickers during the summer months.
You can reach Montmartre easily by the Paris metro. Line 12 (Abbesses) and Line 2 (Anvers and Blanche) are the closest metro stations. #urbanexplorer #paris #vacation

One of Paris’ Most Beautiful Chapels
Sacre Coeur Basilica
This humongous church in the middle of Paris Downtown is a sight to behold and the entrance is FREE! Went there on a chilly autumn day so dress the part. As you approach the platforms towards the church doors you’ll be amazed by a 360 degree view of Paris in all its glory. Around are are endless rows of cafes and kiosks selling all sorts of treats and souvenir items but beware of pickpockets and take extra caution of your wallet and belongings!
The Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica in Paris, France, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Sacré-Cœur Basilica is located at the summit of the butte of Montmartre.#tripblazers #fallingforfall #parisian

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris
Located at the summit of Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement, Sacre Cœur is the highest point in Paris.
Even though you will need to climb up several flights of stairs to visit this monument, you will be treated by stunning views of Paris. The church is incredibly beautiful inside and out, and is filled with massive history.
When visiting Paris, most people head for the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, or the Arc de Triomphe. However, for those seeking to do more unusual things in Paris, I recommend spending at least a few hours in Montmartre. Although this area is popular with tourists, it still has an old-timey neighborhood feel. Head over to a popular cafe called Hardware Societe after visiting Sacre Cœur, their french toast is delicious!

The Sacred Heart Cathedral is located in Montmartre of Paris north. The external wall is painted with white and follows the pattern of Rome - Byzantium. A giant mosaic is printed on the dome, which is called as Christian icon. When you walk out of the main hall, it is suggested to climb up to the dome and command a panoramic view of Paris. Walking down the street, you will find out the real Montmartre.

Ahh Paris! What a #HolidayVacation that was. I first went in 2004 and found it an entirely enchanting city. Just walking around and seeing all the shops filled with soft and warm lights, the smell of fresh bread, the haughty walk of Parisians...it's all so fitting. If you're looking for good photos of the city, make sure you visit Basilica of the Sacred Heart, aka Sacré-Cœur. The overlook from there is great.

Sacre Coeur Montmarte in Paris is located on a hill, but dont worry because you can take the small funicular which will bring you to the top. The bottom part has many nice cafes with the view of the basilica #happynewyear #paris

Finally removed to Montmartre, there was a little bit high, and slowly climbed up, went to the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Because the heart is still in a state of collapse, but also photos come out like this. Sacred Heart Cathedral, which is not allowed to take pictures; we will quietly put away the camera phone. Visit inside the circle, but also beautiful surprises. I met their grand church worship. We are also involved in, sat in the middle of the church, the nuns came out, came out priests, monks as well as children, the whole picture is super Mei, then prayers, choir singing. For people of faith in Europe, it is fantastic, although we do not understand, but in which the body can feel a little some of the power of faith.
FISHFISH.

Still remember the first time we came to this beautiful majestic church right before our end of trip in Paris.
There is a street lead us all the way up to this church. Recall that there are many stores that offer food and beverages, local souvenir and even portrait drawing as an art piece.
Was not expecting the view can be this beautiful upon reach to the top!

The Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
Located atop the 130-meter-high hill of Montmartre, this basilica is renowned for its beautiful Byzantine architecture, particularly its striking white dome.
Inside, it houses one of the world's largest mosaics, depicting Christ and the Virgin Mary.
Additionally, from the top of the basilica, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, overlooking the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River.
At night, it is illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere.

My recent trip to Paris was an unforgettable experience. I had the chance to visit the Panthéon, where I was deeply moved by the history and significance of this monument. The architecture and the stories of the great figures buried there were truly inspiring. I also visited the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, which offered breathtaking views of the city from its hilltop location. Standing there, overlooking the city, was one of the highlights of my trip. Additionally, I enjoyed a leisurely city walk along the Seine River, soaking in the beauty and charm of Paris. The combination of historical sites and scenic views made this trip truly special.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart Shines Over Paris
🏖️ Environment/Facilities: Perched atop the Montmartre hill in northern Paris, it is a Roman Catholic basilica in France named after the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
💞 Recommendation Reason: Convenient transportation with the subway leading nearby. Along the way up Montmartre, there are souvenir shops and an old-fashioned Ferris wheel as a landmark. It's not too strenuous to reach the heights, and the oil paintings and stained glass windows inside the church are also worth seeing. The view of Paris from outside the church is simply too beautiful.
⭐️ Recommendation Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (5/5)

Sacred Heart Cathedral
The Sacred Heart Cathedral (Sacré-Cœur) is white and is known as the 'Little White Palace' of Paris. It is a Byzantine-style cathedral located on Montmartre Hill in the 18th arrondissement of northern Paris, symbolizing the Montmartre highlands. Construction began in 1876 and was completed in 1919. The cathedral features numerous reliefs, murals, and mosaic inlays. At the back of the cathedral stands an 84-meter-high square bell tower, housing one of the world's largest bells, the Savoy Bell, which weighs 19 tons. The front of the cathedral has three arched doors, and on either side of the dome are two equestrian statues: one of King Saint Louis and the other of Joan of Arc, the French national heroine.

Paris…a dream ❤️
I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Paris, and I’m already dreaming about my next visit. This city truly lives up to its reputation. The Eiffel Tower was even more impressive in person, especially at night when it sparkles every hour. Climbing up to the top gave me a panoramic view of the city that’s hard to beat.
I spent hours wandering around the Louvre, and even a whole day didn’t seem like enough. Seeing the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo in person was surreal. Another highlight was a stroll along the Seine River, especially around sunset. The Notre-Dame Cathedral, despite the recent fire, remains a majestic sight, and I enjoyed visiting the nearby Sainte-Chapelle with its stunning stained glass windows.
For art lovers, the Musée d'Orsay is a gem, housed in a former railway station and filled with masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, and Renoir. The bohemian vibe of Montmartre was also a favorite, with its charming streets and the beautiful Sacré-Cœur Basilica offering another great city view.
Food in Paris was a dream. My top three restaurants were:
1. **Le Jules Verne** - Located in the Eiffel Tower, it offers gourmet dining with an unbeatable view.
2. **Le Comptoir du Relais** - This cozy bistro in Saint-Germain-des-Prés serves classic French dishes with a modern twist.
3. **L'Ambroisie** - A Michelin-starred restaurant in the Marais, where every dish was perfection, particularly the desserts.
Paris, with its blend of history, culture, and incredible food, completely captivated me. I can't wait to return and explore even more of this magical city. #paris #localguides #familytrip #trip #instatravel #france

The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre
Last full day to tour the remaining few attractions of Paris. This place was particularly near to my hotel so I decided to visit here first thing in the morning. Praying hard for good weather as I stared at the clouds. Nice place to visit if you are into architectures and probably pay to enter if you are a believer. If you are climbing through the park, BEWARE of the black Africans and DO NOT let them tie any strings on your wrists or you will be scammed as they gather around you (especially for solo travellers).

Basilica of the Sacred Heart of France
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of France centers around the Romanesque grand dome in the middle, flanked symmetrically by a smaller dome on each side, with a tall square bell tower at the back. The solemn facade is balanced and symmetrical, featuring three arched porches, with exquisite bronze relief doors depicting the story of Jesus, and on both sides are statues of Saint Joan of Arc and King Louis IX on horseback. Above the main entrance of the church, one can see the statue of Jesus, as if he is gazing into the distance and blessing the metropolis of Paris.

The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre
#paristrip It was absolutely beautiful. Once you make it to the top, the views are stunning. The inside of the church is awesome. all of the little locks on all the fences, millions of them.. a man was outside, entertaining, playing his guitar and singing. I highly recommend it you must go.. but a warning you must wear comfortable shoes and be in decent shape to climb the millions of stairs to get to the top. I had to take several breaks before we made it up, but it was very well worth it.
