From British School Hostel to a Resort? - Bala’s Holiday Chalet, Cameron Highlands
Ever encountered a peculiar but rustic British Colonial vibed accommodation? I did. We went up the mountain to experience ourself a once a school hostel now a beautiful, secluded resort at the one and only Bala’s Holiday Chalet in Cameron Highlands.
We booked ourself to a suite room for a 2 days and 1 night short vacation. Checking in was easy, and we were given a physical key. Walking up the beautiful staircase docorated with amazing living rare flowers was simply magical.
Once atop the hill, we were welcomed by the sight of magnifient ancient building covered in blooming flora. We stopped for a couple of minutes to soak in, and appreciate the beauty that was served before our eyes.
The suite was surely one of a kind, very classic and felt very “English”. One thing that surprised us was that the room came with an attic too! I felt so happy, and I felt like my childhood dream haf come true having my personal time in the comfort of the attic, with a window that opens to picturesque mountain view outside.
This small chalet is also very popular for their classic scones and English tea. They are prepared fresh in their kitchen daily. The surrounding was quite, we sat in the garden enjoying the delicious English tea time, and we talked to each other. The feeling hit different this time as they garden was so lushious, green, cold, and cozy. A definite experience we won’t get in the city.
This place has a special spot in our heart, and we will surely come back for more!
