I thought the hot springs in Kyoto were beautiful, until I came to Hakone...
This time I stayed at the Hakone Byakudan Hotel, and booked my room half a month in advance.
As for transportation, you can take the Odakyu Romancecar from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto Station. Then you can take a taxi, which costs about JPY 3,600, or take the Hakone Tozan Bus to the station and ask the hotel to send a car to pick you up.
The hotel has 16 rooms, each with a private hot spring ♨️. The whole space is filled with fragrance, especially the elegant scent of sandalwood. As soon as I put on the hotel slippers with arch support and listened to the soft background music, I felt relaxed.
The hotel also provided delicious snacks and matcha when I checked in. It was raining on the day I arrived. Soaking in a hot spring on a rainy day is a unique experience. Although it was raining, the design of the hot spring area kept me dry. You can also wear a straw hat to shield yourself from the rain. The room was very clean and equipped with facial cleansers, makeup removers, and skincare products.
For female guests, the hotel also provides hair clips and incense burners. You can light different scented incense to enhance your relaxation experience.
The drinks in the room's refrigerator are free. Imagine drinking a bottle of cold drink in the hot spring, it was so refreshing. The dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel are included in the room rate, and are exquisite kaiseki cuisine. After dinner, you can enjoy free snacks and various drinks, including juice, soda, and tea. It was so pleasant to have a drink by the fireplace.
