#Asama Shrine is a registered World Cultural Heritage Site. It has been around for over 1,000 years. It is a sacred place, and in 2019, a new torii gate was installed on the land between Asama Shrine and the auxiliary shrine in Hanano-shirataki. Torii gate (tenku no torii)
Tenku-no-Torii of the Sky
This Tenku-no-Torii of the Sky
is located on the edge of the mountain, offering a clear view of Kawaguchiko, Kawaguchiko-machi, and Mt. Fuji. It has become a beautiful Tenku no torii viewpoint that you should see with your own eyes at least once.
🕰️Opening hours:Open-Close: Open daily from 9:00 to 16:00
Admission fee: Free
However, the Tenku no torii viewpoint has been getting a lot of tourists visiting and taking pictures recently. Since it is a sacred place and a private area, there are regulations for taking pictures according to the designated areas. The entrance fee is 100 yen per person, and each person has only 3 minutes to take pictures.
#How to get there
You can take the No. 5 bus from Kawaguchiko Station to Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, then walk up the hill to the torii, which takes about 30 minutes.
However, we drove up for no more than 10 minutes (the road up there is quite narrow and there is limited parking).
For those who want to travel, you can walk or drive up, and please be respectful of the place.
