In March, spring returns to Lishui, and flowers bloom in vibrant colors. The canyons of Jinyun Mountain are deep and serene, shrouded in mist. Ancient camphor trees shade the Guyan Huaxiang scenic area, where the river flows gently. The Yunhe Rice Terraces cascade down the slopes, shimmering like ribbons. The aroma of Jinyun baked cakes and Suichang yellow rice cakes fills the streets, creating a blend of natural beauty and local life. Located in Jinyun County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, Jinyun Xiandu is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a key national scenic spot. It earned its name when Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty marveled at its beauty, exclaiming, "This is truly a capital where immortals gather." Xiandu is renowned for its unique rock formations and breathtaking landscapes, earning it the reputation of possessing "the beauty of Guilin, the wonder of Huangshan, and the danger of Huashan." Dinghufeng Peak, the central attraction of Xiandu, stands tall like a spring bamboo shoot at 170.8 meters, making it the world's tallest columnar rock peak. Legend has it that the Yellow Emperor once refined elixirs here, and the cauldron collapsed, forming a lake, hence the name "Dinghufeng" (Cauldron Lake Peak). Xiandu not only boasts stunning natural scenery but also a rich cultural heritage. The predecessor of the Yellow Emperor Temple was called Jinyun Hall, which was built during the Xianhe and Xiankang periods of Emperor Cheng of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326-342 AD). In the seventh year of Tianbao (748 AD), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, Li Longji, ordered the Jinyun Mountain to be renamed Xiandu Mountain. Along the way, you can enter the ancient Dragon Plow Road, a natural stone corridor on the cliff, which leads to a place several tens of meters above the ground, overlooking the farmland and lake. The scenery is beautiful. These two attractions take about 2 hours in total. Note: ➡️The scenic area is very large, suitable for walking. There is a special station for it. There is not much to eat near other attractions, so bring your own supplies. ➡️Don't go to Zhutan Mountain before going to Dinghu Peak. This section is a one-way road with no cars, so you have to walk 1 kilometer. ➡️Keep your tickets. They will be checked at Dinghu Peak Scenic Area and some bus stations. ➡️It takes about 1 hour to get from Jinyun West Station to Xiandu Scenic Area.
