Arrive in Poprad, a charming town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, and take a bus or taxi to the Strbske Pleso area, a popular base for Tatra hikers. Start your hike towards Teryho Chata, a mountain hut situated at an altitude of 2,010 meters. The hike takes around 4-5 hours, offering incredible views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and alpine lakes. Teryho Chata is a great spot to relax and enjoy a warm meal after a day of hiking.
Day 2: Teryho Chata to Rysy Summit
From Teryho Chata, prepare for a challenging ascent to the Rysy summit, the highest point in the Slovak part of the Tatra Mountains at 2,499 meters. The trail takes about 4-5 hours, with sections that require scrambling and the use of chains, making this a thrilling experience for experienced hikers. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of Poland and Slovakia. After enjoying the breathtaking scenery, descend back to Teryho Chata or continue to the nearby Popradské Pleso, depending on your energy levels.
Day 3: Hike to the Valley of the Five Lakes
