El Nido!
Taraw Peak or Cliff is literally right on the edge of El Nido town. It’s easy to find on Google Maps, but careful you don’t go to the Canopy Walk. It’s walking distance from just about everywhere in the main town, but if you want to save time then you can always rent a motorbike or scooter
WHEN TO VISIT TARAW PEAK
For the best lighting you’ll want to hike before sunup so that you’re at the summit as the sun is rising. It’s definitely sketchy doing it in the dark but the light display when the sun rises makes it all worth it. Not to mention it won’t be as hot this time of day, but even in pre-dawn conditions, expect insane humidity.

Canopy Walk
#beachlife Beautiful view of El Nido Town and beach. Be aware there are 2 different things that might be considered Taraw.... the Canopy Walk which is what is depicted in my pictures and is much more tourist friendly and a short 20 min. hike to the top with safety equipment provided. The actual Taraw Cliff is hundreds of feet above and should be undertaken with an experienced local guide... it is a 2 hr hike up and strenuous and also dangerous with a very real possibility of death falls if you are not careful. Rock scrambling is also required. This hike is not for just anyone, you should be fit and prepaired.

Forgot the snooze button; wake up to the adrenaline rush of Taraw Cliff in El Nido! Spoiler alert: The views up there are worth the early rise. 🌄
Climbing Taraw Peak. The trip starts at 1:00 a.m. Didn't prepare anything. I feel like I'm walking in the forest. As soon as we met the guide, who had a helmet, knee pads, and gloves, we started to wonder why he had to have equipment. The way up is brutal. Climbed a mountain of sharp rocks for an hour in the dark. Turning to my foreign friends in the group, I felt extremely panicked. It was very risky, I had never done anything as risky as this before, but hey, I couldn't back down. Be mindful every step of the way. When we reached the top of the mountain, we were satisfied.Chip, the adrenaline is flowing. The view from the top is so good that it doesn't even exist. It's like watching a movie. Anyone who likes a challenge, get ready. We say Once in a life time. Anyone who wants to see the condition of the ascent, try to find some information first so you don't get shocked. cr:pry.highnseek
