Exploring the colourful historical district of Tanhualin!
Spend a day walking around the charming and artsy district of Tan Hualin. There are many historical buildings (more than 50 over 100 years old!), and there is a strong literary and artistic ambience.
There are plenty of boutique shops and charming cafes to relax and people watch, but it’s most interesting to wander the streets and look at the buildings - feels a bit like a street museum!
🚆 Getting there: take the metro line 7 or line 2

One-day tour of Wuhan.
One-day tour of Wuhan
I arrived at 8:00 and went to Jianghan Road first. At around 10:00, I saw a fried skewer shop and had some late-night snacks. Then I went to get a cup of tea at Cha Yan Yue Se, because I had recharged before. I took the subway back to the hotel. This time I booked a hotel in Tanhualin. I originally planned to go and see the night view of Yellow Crane Tower, but I decided to leave it for next time. Wuhan is too hot and I couldn't walk anymore.
In the evening, I discussed with my friends where to go tomorrow. We could go to a place with some special features. We changed our route and found Gugiapang Half Garden nearby, so we went there first. In the morning, we went to Liangdao Street for breakfast. There weren't many people, so we queued up and got to eat. The last time I went, there were too many people and I didn't want to wait, so I gave up. Gugiapang is recommended. It's an alley full of life, with graffiti walls. The outer wall of Half Garden is the old city wall of Wuchang that was demolished. Some of them still have words on them.
After visiting, we went to Wanda Plaza. Wuhan is really too hot, so we went to the mall and blew some air conditioning. At 6:00 in the afternoon, we went to Wuchang Railway Station and returned.

Sweet Hotels in Wuhan
🎈Babies, I came to Wuhan with my boyfriend. There are so many places suitable for couples to check in. 👫
🌟We went to the beach together, strolled along the river, blew the breeze, watched the light show, and the brilliant lights seemed to shine for our love✨. There is also Tanhua Lin, a street full of literary atmosphere, every corner is very out of the picture, and my boyfriend left many sweet group photos there📷.
🏨We stayed at the Ruijing Kerry Selected Hotel on this trip.
📍Its location is really great, and it is very convenient to travel.
🛏The room environment is super good, it is very warm and romantic, it is like a love nest specially built for couples💕, all kinds of facilities are also very complete, come back when you are tired from shopping outside, you can rest comfortably, it is really comfortable.
This trip with my boyfriend in Wuhan is really satisfying. It is very suitable for couples to check in. Come and feel the romance of this city~🥰

Wuhan
A perfect neighborhood for a leisurely stroll (13/100).
It's been a long time since I last visited Tan Hualin.
I was amazed when I passed by it unexpectedly.
The entire neighborhood has been renovated and is now full of artistic vibes~
The buildings on the slopes are staggered,
combined with soft lighting, creating a great atmosphere.
There are also various artistic shops, live performances, and outdoor barbecues...
It's perfect for a leisurely walk and relaxation during your free time...

Wuhan·City walk
📢Wuhan city walk one-day tour
⌚Arrived at Wuhan Station at 3:30 PM on Saturday, returning home from Wuhan Station at 5:30 PM on Sunday!
Accommodation: Booked a homestay near Hanjiang Road Pedestrian Street, about 500 meters walk downstairs to the pedestrian street (recommended to stay in Jianghan/Jiangtan)
Food: 1⃣️Went to Sanmei Claypot in Tan Hualin, recommended signature braised catfish❗❗❗ (The crayfish noodles were a bit salty, and the Honghu duck was a bit oily)
2⃣️Opposite to Chayan Yuese in Tan Hualin, there is a Shuangxi Beverage Factory, you can try their drinks~ I ordered a cup of Red Mandarin Duck, which has red bean paste inside, not greasy and delicious! (Chayan Yuese in Tan Hualin is too crowded!)
3⃣️Grandpa doesn't drink tea anymore, ordered Kongshan Gardenia! I have to say it smells very good and is refreshing!
4⃣️Went to Wang Ji Sheng Tang Beef Offal Shop on Li Huangpi Road! We ordered a bowl of beef offal and a bowl of beef for two people, the taste was good, but a bit salty for me, and the portion was a bit small, but everyone can still try it!
5⃣️Had hot dry noodles downstairs at the homestay in the morning, the taste was okay but not amazing.
6⃣️Accidentally entered a local alley vegetable market, super lively! Ate the market's noodles and steamed rice cakes, the steamed rice cakes received unanimous praise! Also bought a bag of lotus seeds, delicious😋
✨city walk route:
Wuhan Station——>Tan Hualin——>Yellow Crane Tower——>Hubu Alley——>Take the ferry bus to Hanjiang/Jiangtan——>Jianghan Pedestrian Street——>Vegetable Market——>Gude Temple——>Li Huangpi Road——>Hubei Provincial Museum——>Wuhan Station
Attraction Guide: 1⃣️Walk along Hubu Alley to reach the riverside, remember! You must go to Zhonghua Road Pier to take the 1.3 ferry bus (you can't enter after 20:00), it's not that you can board the ship once you enter, you still have to wait in the waiting room inside, it's very crowded and stuffy! So everyone should be prepared! (There is a water-selling shop inside, so don't worry about lacking water)
2⃣️Take the Wuzhong Line to the other side of the river, not far to walk to Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, the Chinese Gold Internet celebrity check-in point is at the innermost part of Jianghan Road, near the Happy Station.
3⃣️Take the subway to Gude Temple, there are small tricycles at the exit of the subway station, 5 yuan per ride, directly to the entrance of Gude Temple, very convenient. There are many people inside Gude Temple, if you like taking photos, you can walk around inside!
4⃣️There is a shuttle bus at the entrance of Gude Temple that can go directly to Li Huangpi Road, or you can take a taxi (there is a Didi promotion at the entrance, with a coupon, the taxi fare is less than 6 yuan), it's up to personal choice.
5⃣️Many people check in at Bagon House, and there are photographers specialized in taking photos, you can choose if you have the idea.
6⃣️There are really many people in the Provincial Museum, especially the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, the queue is very long, I didn't go to see it (I will write a separate post about the Provincial Museum, those interested can check it out)
Notes✨✨✨: Wuhan is very hot now, be sure to do sun protection, if possible, bring a handheld fan or a neck fan.

It is said that all the good-looking girls and boys go here to take photos and check in
Where is the trendy district in Wuhan?
Old Hankou? It feels too old-fashioned. Chu River Han Street? It doesn't seem to have enough petty bourgeois sentiment.
Let me tell you quietly, the trendy boys and girls all go to Tan Hualin to stroll, eat, check in, and take photos!
Tan Hualin is located in the western part of Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, adjacent to the Wuchang Campus of Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, between the northern foot of Huayuan Mountain within the city wall and the southern foot of Pangxiejia. It is now a retro nostalgic style fashion district, trendy shops + food and entertainment + nostalgic retro + super photogenic = Wuhan's top stream.
Tan Hualin Street is located north of Huayuan Mountain in Wuchang, south of Phoenix Mountain, starting from Zhongshan Road in the east and ending at Desheng Bridge in the west, with a total length of 1200 meters. It gradually formed into an old street after the expansion and shaping of Wuchang City in the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1371).
Here you can find historical buildings such as the Huayuan Mountain Pastor's Apartment, the former residence of Shi Ying, the Xu Yuanquan Mansion, and the former residence of Xia Douyin. Walking around, you can feel the changes of the times in Wuhan.
Now, Tan Hualin is a quiet little street quietly nestled in Wuhan, with various coffee shops waiting for you to sit in.
Recommended visit time: 3-4 hours.
Subway: Line 5, Tan Hualin Wushengmen A exit.
The mountains near Tan Hualin Street are also a great place to enjoy flowers in Wuhan. In spring, you can see flowers all over the mountains.

Friends coming to Wuhan, look here
🏔Attraction Introduction: Wuhan——— County Hualin, a popular spot for artistic and literary enthusiasts, and a gathering place for young artists. Dozens of century-old buildings and unique shops are scattered around.
📝Check-in Guide: It's free!!! Take the subway to Tanhualin Wushengmen Station - Exit A, and you will see the colorful cat mural. The surrounding buildings may look a bit shabby, but don't worry. Follow the crowd and walk forward. Various cat cafes, coffee shops, and stationery stores will catch your eye. You will encounter all kinds of shops, and there will be surprises in the small alleys. Finally, when you see Chayan Yuese, you have basically finished your tour. For those who like to take photos, reserve 2-3 hours. If you just want to stroll around, 1-2 hours is enough. Finding a shop to sit down and relax on a rainy day is also a good choice.

Visiting Tan Hualin Hidden Halfway Up the Mountain | A Treasure Homestay Nestled on the Hillside
Right in our Tan Hualin! Stayed for 5 days and didn't want to leave! A natural oxygen bar!
Traveling to Wuhan during the summer, this is definitely the best choice for accommodation.
I heard it's the filming location for the variety show 'Friends Please Eat' featuring Yuan Hong, Zhang Xinyi, and Yang Di. Enjoy the mountain view⛰️ and listen to the rain, it's breathtaking.
🏡Accommodation Experience🏡
The homestay blends Chinese and modern elements, rustic yet elegant.
The rooms are named after terms from 'Chu Ci' like 'Fusang', 'Baini', and 'Moyang', full of poetic charm. Open the inner door to find an independent backyard. Waking up in the morning, open the floor-to-ceiling windows and bask in the sunlight, it's incredibly pleasant. The bathroom features a dry and wet separation, with an independent bathtub🛁, and complete toiletries. The hairdryer is also a top brand, making it very reassuring to use.
🍽️Dining Service🍽️
Take the escalator down to the western restaurant, filled with green plants🪴 both indoors and outdoors. Exquisite western cuisine and special cocktails🍷 offer a unique flavor. I love their roast chicken.
🌄Surrounding Environment🌄
Located in the Tan Hualin cultural district, you can encounter various cultural and creative shops here. Nearby is Liangdao Street, which gathers a variety of Wuhan delicacies. Wuchang Riverside, Yellow Crane Tower, and the Yangtze River Bridge are also very close. Moreover, the transportation is very convenient, with subway lines 🚇 2/5/7 right next to the homestay.

Tanhualin, a must-visit photo spot in Wuhan!
🏞 Tanhualin, an old street with over 600 years of history, is not only the most artistic and dreamy place in Wuhan but also a microcosm of Wuhan's modern culture.
🚇 Travel route and check-in points:
Starting from Exit A of Wushengmen Station, the first thing that catches your eye is the cat graffiti wall. Following this route, you will encounter the rainbow stairs and various cultural and creative shops and coffee shops.
On the small hill in the middle of Tanhualin, there is a Republican-era street known as the 'Swedish District,' where European-style houses from the Republican period are now transformed into restaurants, theaters, and parent-child craft experience places.
On March 20, the ground cable car will officially start, becoming a new experience project.
At the foot of the hill, the newly renovated flower sea shop and rose flower stairs lead to the newly popular check-in point, Butterfly Hill from 1880.
The eastern section of Tanhualin is quieter and more elegant, with universities, middle schools, hospitals, and bookstores, far from the hustle and bustle, full of cultural atmosphere.
🚗 Transportation advice:
If you drive here, you can park your car in the underground parking lot of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine or Fanyue City, and walk 5 minutes to reach Tanhualin.
⚠ Special reminder:
After finishing your visit, you can walk 10 minutes to reach Liangdao Street and continue your cultural journey in Wuhan.
📸 Tanhualin is not only a witness to Wuhan's history but also a gathering place for modern art. Whether it's for taking photos or experiencing culture, Tanhualin is a place you must visit.

Address - Yanzhi Road Renji Hospital West Side, Wuchang
Wuhan
Hubei China
Rating - 4/5
Tan Hualin, located in the northeast corner of old Wuchang, from Zhongshan Road in the east to Desheng Bridge in the west, is about 1200 meters long. It is an old street gradually formed in the four years of Ming Hongwu (1371). After the opening of the port in Hankou in 1861, the Hualin area in the pan gradually formed the characteristics of Huayang miscellaneous places, which made the buildings here show different styles. Nowadays, it has almost become the literary street of Wuhan, which condenses the literary and artistic feelings of the whole Wuhan. Taking pictures, hanging out, or enjoying an afternoon with coffee is what Wenqing is willing to do here. Touch the weathered old building on the street, you will find that the pan Hualin has more than just literature and art, here brick and tile are engraved with the historical memory of old Wuhan.

I have a friend who told me that if you want to be a literary artist, Yu Hualin is a good place. Especially in the spring of March, when the flowers on the treetops are blooming, the green in the corners of the bricks is more vivid.
Although I am not a literary youth, but I am close to the depths of the alley, I saw the red brick house, I saw the mottled stone steps, I couldnt help but take some fake literary youth punch cards, one seems to be immersed in the years. The inside of the face, the heart is actually thinking: too beautiful here, suitable for taking pictures ~ ^ ^
