Hey everyone, I finally visited Taipei, the city I've been dreaming of. This city, full of artistic atmosphere and lively street scenes, gave me so many surprises! I've organized a super detailed 5-day-4-night itinerary. Let's set off together and feel the charm of Taipei! Day 1: Taipei Main Station → Ningxia Night Market Upon arriving in Taipei, we went straight to Taipei Main Station, which is a transportation hub with super convenient transfers. After dropping off our luggage, we headed to Ningxia Night Market. The oyster omelette at the entrance was amazing, with big and fresh oysters wrapped in egg batter, paired with sweet and spicy sauce. One bite and the fresh flavor filled my mouth. Then we had a cup of bubble tea, with chewy pearls and rich milk flavor, capturing the authentic taste of Taiwan in an instant. Walking and eating, we felt so happy! Day 2: National Palace Museum → Shilin Official Residence → Shilin Night Market In the morning, we visited the National Palace Museum, which has a rich collection of artifacts. Must-see treasures include the Mao Gong Ding and the Jadeite Cabbage. I recommend hiring a guide to fully appreciate the historical significance behind the artifacts. In the afternoon, we went to the Shilin Official Residence, strolling through the gardens and enjoying a leisurely time. In the evening, we visited Shilin Night Market, where we had the famous Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken, crispy and delicious, with a super large size that was very satisfying. The herbal pork rib soup was rich and warming. Day 3: Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall → Yongkang Street → Xinyi District In the morning, we went to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to watch the changing of the guard ceremony, feeling the solemn atmosphere. Then we headed to Yongkang Street, which has many artistic shops. Don't miss the mango shaved ice, with large chunks of mango on top of the ice, sweet and refreshing. In the evening, we went to Xinyi District, a shopping paradise with all major brands. After shopping, we went to Din Tai Fung for soup dumplings, with juicy meat filling and thin skin, bursting with flavor in every bite. Day 4: Tamsui Old Street → Fisherman's Wharf In the morning, we went to Tamsui Old Street, with its historic charm. The local snacks like Ah Gei and iron eggs are must-tries. In the afternoon, we went to Fisherman's Wharf to watch the romantic sunset, enjoy the sea breeze, and find a seaside restaurant for a relaxing dinner. Day 5: Four Four South Village → Songshan Cultural and Creative Park In the morning, we checked out Four Four South Village, Taipei's first military dependents' village, full of nostalgic vibes, giving a glimpse into old Taipei life. In the afternoon, we went to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, with various exhibitions and creative shops, perfect for artistic youths to explore and take photos. Tamsui, Taiwan is a seaside port city that is easy to travel to, only 1 hour from Taipei. When we went, it was drizzling, making the weather cool and comfortable, not hot. And luckily, the rain stopped just as the sun was setting, so we still had a chance to see the sunlight. Overall, very impressive. ❤️🔅 Activities: Walk or cycle along the route from Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf to Tamsui Golden Anchor. Choose the time during sunset, the atmosphere is the best, forget about being tired. ☺️🔅 We spent about 2 hours in Tamsui. You can walk around, cycle around and have a simple dinner here. Actually, we planned to stay here for 3 hours, but it was raining on the day we went, so we cut some spots. We also got lost on the MRT. 😂 It took us quite a while to realize it and take the same route back. 📌 Transportation: The easiest way is to take the MRT red line until the end of the line and get off at Tamsui Station. 🧸 But we chose to take the MRT red line and get off at Hongshulin Station to transfer to the Danhai Light Rail, a train line where each station is decorated with the works of Jimmy Liao, a famous Taiwanese cartoon artist. If you have 5 days in Taipei, here something you can do: Day1: Arrived at Taipei Taoyuan Airport in the morning, take trains to Taipei Station, have breakfast and walking trip under street of Taipei Station, take train to 101 Tower, then go to Xi Men Ding district to eat and shopping, at the evening check in hotel and go to Shilin Night Market to have dinner. Day 2: JiuFen Shifen Trip. Suggest to go to JiuFen first (top of hill) as this location is harder to get public transport in the evening. At JiuFen you can enjoy nice meal and do some shopping here. Then you can headed to Shifen. If you want to to visit waterfall you can go earlier other wise come to Shifen railway station during evening is nice to light up the sky lantern with your wishes and send to the air. At night, Jilong Night Market have the best food you can taste. Day 3: Today is hot spring spa day, Beitou district day. Here you can have a nice walk with the local morning market, public library, spa museum, and highly recommend to pick a nice place for spa. I picked Huang Chi Spa / Emperor Spa as they have a unique natural hot spring with natural radium mineral from underground volcanic. Then at night, can visit Raohe St. Night Market, which is the oldest and unique night market for good food. Day 4: Is Tamsui district day. Is a very relax walk by the famous Fisherman’s Wharf harbour. Enjoy some local delicacies, shopping for souvenirs and enjoy your walk along the riverbanks. At night can go to Ningxia night market for food. Day 5: the last day if your flight at evening or night, you can do some final shopping at WuFenPu near the city. Is a fashion clothes wholesale area where you can do some fashion shopping with good price. You may also spend some good time to shop around Taipei Station underground shopping district and have some nice food. #Tamsui Fullon Hotel Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf The hotel with the most activities in history should be the Fullon Hotel Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf. The only time I stayed in the room for two days and one night was to eat dinner and sleep. The rest of the time was spent playing facilities and activities. The most important thing is that I didn't finish playing and continued to play until I was satisfied before going home after checking out. 👉We arrived at the hotel CI before 14:00 on the day of check-in (they will notify us via SMS when the room is ready), because we signed up for the Shihuxin Ecological Guided Beach Secret Activity. Before the activity, the hotel staff let the children DIY their own straw hats and straw bags. We took a special car to the intertidal zone at 3:00 on time. After arriving, the big brother explained the intertidal zone ecology and taught us how to catch crabs🦀️. My children loved this activity and caught a lot of crabs. My first time, when I went to Tamsui, I took MRT Red line until last stop - Tamsui. And after that I took local bus 22 to Tamsui Fishermen wharf. All journey from Taipei main station took me around 1 hour. Including waiting time. And I do not regretted that I spent this time. Place is really wonderful. My favorite German pork knuckle is at the Italian restaurant Eat Senyuan next to Fisherman’s Wharf. Today, 5 of us went to dine. German pork knuckle, duck, lamb chops, cod, Iberian pork. There are only set meals on weekends. There are appetizers, salads, soups, staples, risotto, desserts, coffee. The ingredients are fresh, colorful, fragrant and delicious. It looks good and tastes good. It's a great restaurant worth recommending to everyone.
