Takasegawa Cherry Blossom Canal, a great place to enjoy night cherry blossoms in Kyoto!
#Kyoto Sakura
There is a small parallel canal next to the Kamogawa River in Kyoto, called #高泽川, which is a canal connecting Kyoto city and Fushimi, and is located near the bustling Kawaramachi.
Every spring at the end of March and the beginning of April, the cherry blossoms on both sides of the Takase River are in full bloom, creating a beautiful sight. There are also limited-time Takase River human-powered boats, where you can take a boat ride on the cherry blossom canal.
During the spring flower season, the Takase River Cherry Blossom Festival is held around Licheng Elementary School, with performances and boat rides; at night, there are lighting activities, and it is romantic to enjoy the night cherry blossoms by the gurgling stream.

Treasure Cafe Bistro So-B on the banks of the Kamogawa and Takase Rivers in Kyoto
#1月好去地方2025
This is a small specialty coffee shop between the Takase River and the Kamogawa River in Kyoto. It is located on the stone path next to the Kyoto City Hall and Ninofune. I was attracted by the deep corridor when I passed by it unintentionally. It seems to be a shop with riverside seats and sells coffee late at night, which aroused my curiosity to find out more.
The name of the shop "so-b" is very special. The wooden porch has a street-house feel. When you go inside, you will see a room full of doll collections. It seems that the boss is a toy collector and a bit of a geek!
The old house looks quite nostalgic under the dim light at night. The bartender Adouzai is very enthusiastic, speaks English and Japanese, and will chat with the guests. Ordered a draft beer and enjoyed the chill of Kyoto at night.
The small shop has a second floor leading to a small attic, as well as outdoor seating. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Kamogawa River during the day and the bright lights and cool breeze at night. This is the authentic flavor of Kyoto.

[Kyoto] Kyoto Tourism: Nijo Takasegawa where you can enjoy the Kyoto atmosphere
Nijo Takasegawa is one of the beautiful waterways that runs through the city of Kyoto. Excavated in the early Edo period, Takasegawa is a place beloved by many Kyoto residents for its rich history and beautiful scenery.
Nijo Takasegawa and the Kamo River that flows next to it are precious spots where you can enjoy nature and culture at the same time, even though they are located in the city of Kyoto.
Nijo Takasegawa is especially beautiful in the spring cherry blossom season, but is also recommended for the upcoming autumn foliage season. Nearby areas include Shijo Kawaramachi, Kyoto's downtown, Teramachi, and Shinkyogoku, which are all within walking distance, so you can combine your sightseeing with other activities.
This is a walking spot that you should definitely visit when sightseeing in Kyoto.

Chillin’ Under the Blossoms
#cherryblossom25 The Takasegawa Cherry Blossom Festival is honestly such a vibe. It’s super chill and just a great place to hang out in the spring. The cherry blossoms are everywhere, lining the canal, and they look absolutely amazing. Like, it's almost impossible to take a bad pic here. You can just stroll along, grab some snacks from the food stalls (highly recommend the takoyaki and sakura mochi), and just enjoy the whole peaceful, kinda magical atmosphere.
It’s not too crowded either, so you’re not constantly dodging people, which is a win. The petals floating down into the water look straight out of a movie. It’s the perfect spot to relax, chat with friends, or just vibe by yourself. You don’t really need a plan. just show up, walk around, take it all in. If you're in Kyoto during cherry blossom season, this spot is a must. Seriously, it’s just a good time.

The night cherry blossoms at Takase River and the Nishihara Café in Nagoya are indeed worthy of their reputations.
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
Nishihara Café is located in Nagoya, in the Sakae shopping district near Sakae Station. The store is full of Japanese retro style, which can be felt as soon as you enter the door.
The retro-style tables and chairs are made of wood. The interior is dim with a little light. This is a cafe with its own flavor. This is also my pilgrimage before the night cherry blossom trip to Takasegawa ~ It is known as the second cafe in Nagoya.
After relaxing at Nishihara Café, we took the JR Shinkansen to Takasegawa. It only takes about half an hour to get from Nagoya to Kyoto. In the evening, we decided to visit Kyoto's tourist attraction - Takasegawa, just to walk on the free night cherry blossom trail (between Shijo and Gojo Dori). The night cherry blossoms with lights on really created a different atmosphere. There are fewer businesses on this section of the road, so it is particularly leisurely to walk, and it is the best place for a romantic date.

Ephemeral yet beautiful Kyoto
Kyoto, ephemeral and beautiful, only during this season.
The cherry blossom trees lining Takase River create a magical world as their petals reflect on the water's surface, while at Keage Incline, cherry blossoms bloom gracefully over the unused railway tracks, gently embracing the passage of time.
Along the Kamo River, a nostalgic and serene everyday scenery unfolds.
In Kyoto during this season, simply being there fills your heart with a sense of fulfillment. No matter how many times you visit, you’ll encounter a different "spring miracle" every year in this city.

Kansai Cherry Blossom Tour, I'm glad I went to Nara
I didn't expect the cherry blossoms here to be so beautiful.
It’s already 2/3 open.
Under the sun, it is the beautiful cherry blossom scenery in Japan that I have always dreamed of.
I went from Osaka to Nara and then to Kyoto
Summary 1️⃣Day tour route guide for everyone ⬇️No tickets for the whole journey
✅From Osaka to Nara Station in the morning, less than an hour
Get off and take a bus or walk directly to: Sakura of Saba River
The cherry blossoms along the river are several kilometers long, and it takes me about 2 hours to go back and forth.
Now is the best time to enjoy cherry blossoms
✅Nara to Kyoto Station
At noon, we went to eat Sukiyaki to fill our stomachs. I have to say that the local Omi beef 👍 is worthy of its century-old history. The meat tasted very good.
What’s special is that this restaurant incorporates cloud marshmallows into the soup pot, and the process is very ritualistic.
These two places in Kyoto are currently the best and there is no ticket required
But there are relatively more people
But it's really beautiful~
1️⃣Takase River: Near the Kamo River, mainly white cherry blossoms, the riverside shops are very atmospheric under the backdrop of cherry blossoms
2️⃣ Philosopher's Path: The Ginkaku-ji Temple is also doing very well, but there are just a few more people. However, the shopping streets next to it are fun to visit.
Address: Omi beef 灙き焼き都
📍Floor 42-3, Daikokucho, Nakakyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It’s best to make an appointment.

Chasing Cherry Blossoms in Japan: A Status Update from Kyoto Cherry Blossoms
On April 7, 2025, the 27th anniversary of my arrival in Japan, I accompanied guests from Wuxi to Kyoto to view the cherry blossoms 🌸.
The cherry blossoms in Kyoto are now in full bloom. Everywhere you go, you can see beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom.
💁🏻♂️As soon as you exit the Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Railway, you will be amazed by the cherry blossoms on both banks of the Takase River.
💁🏻♂️The cherry blossoms🌸 at Gion Shirakawa are also a popular spot for many to visit. Recently, I discovered that Japan is truly loved by people from all over the world. You can see them showing their affection everywhere.
💁🏻♂️The inclined railway from Kyoto subway Keage Station to Nanzenji Temple is truly loved by tourists from all over the world. In addition, the white walls of Nanzenji Temple and the cherry blossoms also make it the best place for couples to take pictures.
💁🏻♂️Along the Lake Biwa Canal, all the way to Heian Shrine, the cherry blossoms on both sides of the river, combined with the cruise ships and the art galleries along the coast, look so appropriate.
😊The above is just a corner of Kyoto during the cherry blossom season. There are cherry blossoms everywhere in Kyoto, and even unknown places can attract tourists to press the shutter involuntarily and record the beautiful scenery in front of them.

🌸The first wave of cherry blossoms in Kyoto is in full bloom! Quick Look
Who among my family members understands? It has been raining coldly in Kyoto for several days in a row 🌧️ I thought I would have to wait a little longer to enjoy the cherry blossoms, but today as soon as the sun came out, I rode my bike out for a stroll and unexpectedly encountered the first wave of cherry blossoms in Kyoto! It is located on the streets near the city center. There are few people and cars here🚗 but the cherry blossoms are already in full bloom, and the beauty is otherworldly. Passersby can't help but take out their phones to record this rare beauty📱
Even more fortunately, I came across a mother and daughter wearing kimonos. The scene was as beautiful as if it came out of an ancient book. I took the liberty to ask if I could take photos for them, and they agreed very readily. Every time they took a photo, they clapped and praised: "Wow! They are from Sri Lanka!" The emotional value was maxed out 💯 When I left, they also gave me a small gift, which was really heartwarming!
If you want to get the same beautiful scenery, just navigate to 📍Takagi Cafe and experience the romance that is only available in Kyoto~

Kyoto: A stroll along the charming Takase River
Kamogawa River is famous in Kyoto, but I recommend Takasegawa River, which is located one street into the city center and is quiet and sparsely populated! Takasegawa River is lined with long-established restaurants and cafes along the river, and while the cafes along the river are always crowded, you can enjoy a leisurely trip to Kyoto by watching the babbling brook along the quiet Takasegawa River! #solotravel #kyoto #kyototrip #kyotocafe #takasegawa

[Kyoto] Cherry blossom spot along Takasegawa River, within walking distance from the Kawaramachi area
This year, I was lucky enough to be in Kyoto when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom🌸
This photo spot is Takasegawa River in downtown Kyoto
The Kiyamachi area has the impression of being a drinking district, but north of Sanjo Street, there are not too many people and I was able to enjoy taking photos at my own pace!
There are also many bridges along the way, so I was able to take nice photos with a telephoto lens◯
If you go down south from Oike-dori, the cherry blossoms are blooming all along the river, including the Kiyamachi area, so I recommend getting off at Shiyakusho-mae Station and taking a leisurely walk!

Takasegawa, a secret canal in the heart of Kyoto🇯🇵
Takasegawa Canal, a beautiful canal hidden in the heart of Kyoto, dug since the Edo period, has a good atmosphere, is quiet, and shady, perfectly combining the traditional and the modern.
Along the Takase Canal, there is a pedestrian walkway that is suitable for a leisurely stroll, taking pictures with old buildings, stone bridges, and experiencing the canal lifestyle of the city's people. The most beautiful time of Takase Canal is in spring (March - May). Cherry blossoms bloom on both sides of the canal, turning this canal into a light pink cherry blossom tunnel, very beautiful, perfect for taking pictures and checking in.

[Delicious Toromeshi while looking at the Takase River 🏞️]
This time, I'll introduce a delicious restaurant near Takasegawa in Kyoto!
A restaurant that specializes in green onions, served in a Japanese-style house!
The fresh green onions and grated yam were a perfect match😋
The Takasegawa River flows nearby, so you can spend a relaxing time listening to the babbling of the stream. It was the perfect restaurant for a trip to Kyoto!
It's also close to the tourist center, so it's easy to get to🙌

Take a stroll around Shijo Kawaramachi and Gion in Kyoto
When you go up to ground level at Shijo Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, you will find Takasegawa, a small river with a murmuring sound. Nearby, there is the long-established coffee shop Francois, and the coffee shop Agaru, where you can drink carefully selected coffee with the murmuring sound of the Takasegawa River right in front of you. There are also many restaurants along the Takasegawa River, but just taking a leisurely stroll while watching the ducks swimming in the Takasegawa River is also relaxing.
The Gion area is also nearby, and if you take a leisurely stroll while looking at the rows of town houses that are typical of Gion, you can get a glimpse of the lives of the people of Kyoto, making for a very enjoyable walk.

Kyoto SAKURA Cherry Blossom Tour❗️Be amazed by the cherry blossoms along the Takase River❗️
Kyoto SAKURA Cherry Blossoms - Impressed by the cherry blossoms along the Takase River❗️
When you think of Kyoto, you think of cherry blossoms, and when you think of cherry blossoms, you think of Kyoto!
So, I came to Kyoto!
This time, I took a stroll around Takase River's Kiyamachi Street!
✅Takase River Kiyamachi Street
✅About a 4-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station Exit 1B
The Takase River was a canal dug in the early Edo period to transport goods between the center of Kyoto and Fushimi.
Nowadays, the cherry blossoms bloom in spring and it has become one of the most enjoyable tourist spots!
The combination of the cherry blossoms in full bloom, the gentle flow of the river, and the Kyoto-style houses was also very tasteful and wonderful❗️

A famous r
A famous rotisserie in Kyoto, the sizzling meat in the vicinity of Takahata River, because the kimono is too tired, and dragged the suitcase, we chose to take a taxi!
Hong Shao meat is a very famous place to eat raw beef, which is not much in Japan! I chose the most famous course of Hong Shao Shao (the name has been forgotten), it is baked by myself, but the chef will tell you how long each kind of meat is baked, and then what kind of sauce, each one is especially praised, satisfying!
This plate is the meat of the square above. It is a photo of Hong Shao Shao. After roasting, the chef will help cut it. It is estimated that it will be cooked in 3 or 4 minutes. The feeling of life is wonderful, but it is really good. eat.
Take a photo at the door of the pork shop after eating! Next, I went to Gaochunchuan in the night. This is also filled with cherry blossoms along the river. But compared with Shirakawa, the shops on both sides are more modern and younger. We dragged our suitcases slowly and leisurely.
