Historic buildings

Tainan Confucian Temple was built in 1665. Over the past 300 years, the Confucian Temple has undergone several major renovations. It is a spectacular Confucian Temple in Taiwan and has been listed as a first-class historic site. In addition to tourists, most of the people who come here are students, praying for their success in their studies. The entire Tainan Confucian Temple still maintains the traditional pattern of "Zuo Xue and Right Temple". The Zuo Xue is a building complex dominated by Minglun Hall, and the Right Temple is centered on Dacheng Hall. The main building in the Confucian Temple is the Dacheng Hall in the center. It is amazing that there are no pillars and corridors in the hall, and it is only supported by beams outside the thick wall. It has a special structure and can be called a typical representative of ancient Chinese architecture. The Confucius Temple is mainly dedicated to Confucius, and the East and West Temples are dedicated to other ancient saints and sages. On the day of the ceremony on September 28 of the solar calendar every year, the mayor of Tainan will preside over the ceremony in accordance with the ancient ceremony. The atmosphere is solemn and the ceremony is solemn. There is also an authentic plaque in the display of the Confucian Temple "the first school in Taiwan". It is not signed and I don't know who wrote it. Under the plaque is a statue of Chen Yonghua counseling to join the army. It was this man who persuaded Zheng Chenggong's son Zheng Jing to "build a holy temple and build a school", and has been praised by later generations as "an advocate of education in Taiwan". This Confucian Temple is also the first institution of higher learning built by Zheng Chenggong after he recaptured Taiwan. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was the place where all Taiwanese students entered, so it is called "the first school in Taiwan".
