Tai Mei tuk it’s a beautiful place to visit for a nice half or whole day. It is located Lung Mei Tsuen district, near Sai Kung area and Shatin. Offering a traffic-free bike path, Sha Tin is a great starting point for family rides. You can start off near Shing Mun River, ride along the scenic coastline of Tolo Harbour, then head for Tai Mei Tuk for a view of the beautiful lake. You will pass by a river, the sea and the lake, I highly recommend to rent bike in the area, there will be many bike rental shops. You can rent the bike at Shing Mun River and enjoy three hours of a slow ride passing first from Hong Kong Science Park, keep riding to Pak Shek Kok Promenade & Tai Po Waterfront Park, and at the End reaching Tai Mei Tuk. A New Jeju Style Coffee Shop in Town 🇭🇰🇰🇷☕️🍵

📍Tamora Address: F6FM+CM, Ting Kok Opened less than a week ago, Tamora is a Jeju style cafe in Tai Mei Tuk, Tai po. The cafe opens at noon but I would highly advise to arrive around 11:30 especially if you are driving because there is limited parking spaces. We arrived at around 11:30 and had a quick lunch at a burger shop nearby and just nice it was noon when we finished. And I was really surprised to see the newly opened cafe has already attracted crowds of visitors!!! We ordered a jeju matcha latte ($75), an americano ($60) and a portion of jeju matcha croffle ($80). #koreancafe #placetogo #hkcafe

BBQ Farms 🍗🍖🥤 near Tai Mei Tuk

GYO = Grill Your Own 🥩🍢 is such a fun experience for families or friends! There are several BBQ farms near Ting Kok/Tai Mei Tuk villages, in the Shuen Wan area, belonging to the Tai Po district of Hong Kong. ☀️🏖🌳🌴 If you need a change from downtown with its crowds , shopping 🛍and restaurants and table cloths 🍽, take the chance! Even if you are staying in a hotel in Sha Tin or downtown, getting out to this area in New Territories is simple. Take the 75K bus or 20C mini bus 🚐 from Tai Po MTR Station, get off at Ting Kok or Lo Tsz Tin. There’s plenty of parking 🚗 for self-drive visitors. 👍 There’s no need to take your own meats and cooking equipment, everything is provided - from coal to endless canned drinks! 🔥🍗🥩🍖🍍🧃 Prices 💰 are by-the-hour for “all-you-can-eat”, ie $140/person for 2 hours. It’s a really great experience! Before or after barbequing, you can check out the Long Mei Beach 🏖 or Plover Cover Reservoir…or just enjoy a walk to enjoy the beautiful general area of Shuen Wan which literally means “Boat Bay” 🛶, but is also often referred to as Plover Cove. Family Day Out? 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Friends’ Day Out? 👩‍❤️‍👨👫 Rent-a-bicycle stores in Tai Mei Tuk/Lung Mei Village have bikes for everyone, even trainer-wheel bicycles for adults! 🚲😁 There are quadracycles available for families or groups of friends. For fitter and more adventurous riders, Shatin or even Tuen Mun are within reach in a day! You can return your bike to another branch of the same bicycle-hire company in Shatin, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, etc. Great system and great track! 👍 Individual adult bicycles for day hire: from $100hkd/day. The four-wheel bikes cost more and the children’s bikes cost less! There’s also hourly bicycle hire; you can make your outing as cheap/expensive/relaxing/rigourous as you like! ☺️😎 Tai Mei Tuk/Lung Mei villages also have a great selection of Chinese, Indian and western restaurants. There’s also small cafés, a bakery and a foreign foods grocery. Plus, there’s drink machines and small stores for snacks along the bicycle path. If you don’t want to ride far, or at all, you can simply extend your outing from Tai Mei Tuk to see the Plover Cove Reservoir or swim at the Lung Mei Beach. 🏖 These places are within walking distance. Take 20C mini bus or 75K double-decker bus from Tai Po MTR Station. Tai Mei Tuk is the terminus, you can’t get lost! 😂 When you arrive, you will look up to see the Pat Sing Leng mountain (“Ridge of the Eight Immortals”). Yes, you can count them, 8 peaks! The mountain towers above the village! ⛰ The YHA Bradbury Jockey Club Tai Mei Tuk Youth Hostel (TaiPo) is basic but puts you right on the spot. Spring Outing 2024: Cycling from Sha Tin to Tai Mei Tuk

Spring is the best season for cycling🚴♀️. Starting from Sha Tin to Tai Mei Tuk, it takes about two hours. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and watching the sunset🌅 at Tai Mei Tuk is very meaningful. The straight road is very refreshing. Many people sit by the sea to chat, walk🚶, and run🏃♀️, which is very pleasant. Usually, people fly kites here because the bridge area is quite windy. Children👧 should be careful. Weekends are especially crowded, so I choose to go on weekdays.

Tai Mei Tuk Family Walk is one of my favourite hiking trails. It is only 1.2km long and it takes less than 1 hour to finish.
