A lake of green islands that contain the sky, Tai Lam Tsung Reservoir, Hong Kong
Tai Lam Tsung Reservoir, also known as the ‘Thousand Island Lake’, is a trekking course where you can see the scenery of green islands in the blue lake and the vast sky, and the airplanes heading to the airport.
The road, which is located on the outskirts of Hong Kong, has lower buildings than the city center and the red flowers of the Bombax Ceiba, a street tree, are more clearly visible, and you can enjoy it most excitingly from the front seat on the second floor of the K66 bus.
After getting off the bus, there is a steep uphill road to the barbecue area at the entrance of Tai Lam Country Park, but it is fun to watch people riding mountain bikes down like a cool breeze.
The ‘Sweet Gum Woods’ of Tai Lam Country Park is a forest with rare autumn leaves in Hong Kong, which has a subtropical climate.
If you go trekking in December to January, you can walk on the beautifully transformed autumn leaves.
Of course, it is also a good path to walk in other seasons when the colorful green leaves are abundant.
The view of the Thousand Islands Lake from the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir Viewpoint is well hidden, but when you see the Thousand Islands Lake at the end of the bumpy dirt road, you will realize that the phrase ‘a view that can only be seen after climbing endless stairs’ is true.
Enjoy the clear panoramic view of the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir, which contains the blue islands above the water and the colors of the sky!
