[Yamaguchi, Shimonoseki] I was very satisfied with my own sushi set😋
Karato Market is a representative tourist spot in Shimonoseki, and also a gourmet spot. Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday, an event called Bakangai is held, and on that day, sushi shops are lined up in the market! You can buy sushi by the piece, so it might be fun to go around the shops and make your own original sushi pack. One of the most popular shops is "Takesho", and when I actually ate it, it was cheap and delicious, and I was completely addicted. I went there two days in a row. It takes 15 to 30 minutes to order, and when it's your turn, you tell the staff the sushi toppings and number you want. There is a microphone installed, so you don't have to shout, which is a nice touch in a lively space. Order from the left half, order from the right half, pay, and then enjoy wherever you like. You can order miso soup and other items separately at the counter in the back.
Sushi starts at 100 yen per piece, and even though it's cheap, the portions are big and the fish is very fresh, so it's very satisfying◎
The fugu soup (300 yen) is also full of chunks of meat,
and is especially recommended in winter when it's in season, as it will warm you up😉
Karato Market was really better than I expected! It was a place I definitely want to stop by when I go to Shimonoseki🍣
