Take a village walk in Suzdal in autumn.
Arrive in Suzdal from Vladimir in the afternoon to catch the precious autumn sunshine in Russia. Walk to the Torgovyye Ryady in the town center after putting down your luggage, just in time for the sunset in Suzdal.
There are 5 monasteries, more than 30 churches and historical buildings scattered in the town center within a radius of less than 2 kilometers. They are scattered in the still green fields and yellow leaves, surrounded by quaint wooden bridges and rivers, quiet and warm, fresh and quaint. If Tao Yuanming had been here, it should also be worthy of the title of the Peach Blossom Spring.
The best way to visit the town is on foot. The main historical buildings, local houses and pastoral scenery are concentrated on the west side of Lenina Main Street, while restaurants and guesthouses are mainly on the east side of the main street. Therefore, even if the town's tourism is very commercialized, you can still see the original simple life of the locals on the west side.
It takes 3-4 hours to walk around the small road in the west field. Every few steps in Suzdal is a painting, and I slowly understand the color and composition in the works of Russian painters.
📷Good viewpoints in the town center:
▪️East bank of the river:
·Torgovyye Ryady
·The trail in the open grassland of the Kremlin
▪️West bank of the river:
·The wooden bridge near Tserkov' Bogoyavleniya
·Il'inskiy Lug grassland
·Smotrovaya Ploshchadka Na Kamenke
The town is also a holiday resort for locals. Hotels and guesthouses are easily booked up on weekends, so it is recommended to book in advance.
