Take you around Chenzhou
Take you to Chenzhou
First stop: Suxian Ridge
Suxian Ridge is named after Su Dan, a man from Chenzhou during the Western Han Dynasty, who practiced and became immortal here. It is known as the eighteenth blessed place in the world. It is said that Suxian Ridge is very effective. When the women's volleyball team trained in Chenzhou, they achieved five consecutive championships because they climbed Suxian Ridge, haha. After entering the gate, follow a stone path engraved with the word 'Fu' (blessing) to Bailu Cave, the birthplace of Su Xian, where you can soak up some immortal aura. Then, climb the steps to visit the Sanjue Stele, which features the words of Qin Guan, the postscript of Su Shi, and the calligraphy of Mi Fu, all engraved on the stone wall, hence the name Sanjue Stele.
Continue climbing to Jingxing Temple. At the entrance, you will see eight large characters on both sides of the steps: 'Dao Qi Chang Cun, You Qiu Bi Ying' (The spirit of Dao lasts forever, and all wishes will be fulfilled), which are vigorous and powerful. It is now the site of the Chenzhou Taoist Association. It is said that the Taoist priests here are very skilled in divination and are frequent guests of many high-ranking officials in Chenzhou.
As you continue up the steps, you will see a prominent boulder near the top of the mountain, said to be the place where Su Dan ascended to immortality, known as 'Ascension Stone' or 'Crane Terrace'. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the governor of Chenzhou, Fan Tingmou, inscribed a couplet: 'The rivers and mountains are in one view; the scenery lasts for a thousand autumns', with the horizontal inscription 'Not far from heaven'.
Not far ahead, there was originally Suxian Temple, now it is Nanchan Temple. In the 1980s, monks and Taoists had a lawsuit that alarmed Zhao Puchu. As a result, the confused officials made a confused judgment, and the monks actually won. Now the temple has absorbed the temple, which is quite amusing. Inside the temple, turn right to reach Qujiang Room. After the Xi'an Incident, Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned here for more than 40 days and wrote the poem 'The great roc has wings but is troubled to spread them'. This place is now a provincial cultural protection unit.
If you don't want to climb the mountain, you can take the cable car or electric car.
Suxian Ridge has an altitude of 526 meters and is lush with trees, making it a great place to cool off in the summer. Standing at the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire city of Chenzhou. As night falls and the lights come on, you can enjoy the beautiful night view of Chenzhou. In the dim lights, there is my home.
