Suwolbong Geopark
Suwolbong, 77m high, is a small hill-shaped mountain, but it serves as a textbook for volcanology research due to the various volcanic sedimentary structures left in the volcanic ash layer exposed along the coastal cliff. It is important in terms of earth science and has beautiful scenery, and is a UNESCO-designated World Geopark. It is a trail course where you can enjoy beautiful geological resources and scenery. It is part of a ring-shaped volcanic body created when boiling magma met seawater and erupted explosively 14,000 years ago. The volcanic ash erupted from Suwolbong became fertile soil, providing a living foundation for Neolithic people to settle down. Even now, the area around Suwolbong is the widest field in Jeju. You can easily climb to the top of Suwolbong by car, and you can see Suwoljeong, where a rain ritual was held. From the observatory at the top of Suwolbong, you can see Chagwido, Songaksan, Dansan, and Jukdo at a glance, and the sunset is comparable to that of Sarabong. #Suwolbong
