Arakura Hikawa Hachiman Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Located in Arakura, Wako City, this shrine is located along the long Miyasaka road. The deities enshrined are Susanoo-no-mikoto and Hondawake-no-mikoto It is said to have been founded during the Koan era of the Kamakura period. There are many shrines within the grounds, so be sure to visit the area behind the main hall. And don't miss the pat-able dog "Kotakara-inu" and pat-able cat "Fuku-mane-neko" on both sides of the shrine! In particular, the cats' blessings vary depending on where you pet them. Shimoido Inari Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine is located in Shinkura, Wako City, along Tobizaka Street. Details about its founding and origins are unknown. It is said to be a shrine that has been worshiped in the Shimoido area for a long time. It was moved to its current location in 1900. It is located on a fairly high hill and is surrounded by shrines. The approach to the shrine is well maintained, but the surrounding area looks deserted at first glance. Iozan Torinji Temple 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A temple in Shinkura, Wako City. It is a temple of the Chizan school of Shingon Buddhism, and the principal image is the Yakushi Nyorai statue. According to the Wako City Hometown Guide Map, the temple was founded before 1695 (Genroku 8) during the Edo period. North Exit Yakyu Inari Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 It is located in Shinkura, Wako City, and is enshrined near the intersection of North Exit Street and North Exit Ekimae Street near the station. The grounds are surrounded by a wall, but it is a small shrine. It is enshrined in a corner of the mansion of Mr. Tomioka Tsunejiro at the north exit, and although it is still privately owned, the gate is not closed and you can worship freely. It was enshrined in 1920 from Yakyu Inari Shrine in Higashimatsuyama by an enthusiastic group of over 100 people at the time. At Higashimatsuyama Yakyu Inari Shrine, you can see many offerings and votive plaques related to baseball equipment. Ontake Haruna Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine in Honmachi, Wako City. There is an apartment complex called CI Heights behind it, so you can walk through it, and there is a constant stream of people passing by the shrine. A shrine worshipped by a group from the Hara Shinden area who worshipped the Joshu Haruna Shrine, which was located next to the tracks of the Tobu Tojo Line. In 1952, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. purchased the land and moved here. Asakubo Musashi Mitake Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 It is located in the center of Wako City, and is enshrined within the grounds of Asakubo Fuji Sengen Shrine. It is back-to-back with the Fuji Sengen Shrine's shrine. It was built in October 1983 by the Musashi Mitake Association, inviting a branch of the spirit of Musashi Mitake Shrine in Ome City. A stone monument inscribed with this is placed nearby. Sugimori Inari Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Located in the center of Wako City, it is enshrined within the grounds of Asakubo Fuji Sengen Shrine. It appears to have been previously located in a corner of the current RIKEN, but was moved here when the group was abolished. Asakubo Fuji Sengen Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 It is located in the center of Wako City, near Wako IC from Wako Jinja Station, past Kawagoe Kaido. This shrine is an external shrine to Shimoshinkura Hikawa Hachiman Shrine. In 1980, the religious corporation owned by the Fujiko group was abolished, and it became an external shrine to Shimoshinkura Hikawa Hachiman Shrine. It's like, "Where in the city is this Fujizuka!?" It's not very tall, but you can climb it. Stone monuments are scattered all over the place. Seiryuji Fudoin Temple 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Seiryuuji Fudoin Temple is located in Shirako, Wako City. Bushu Shirako Kumano Shrine is adjacent to it. It is on high ground, and when you climb the stone steps, the first thing you will see is the Fudoin temple hall in front of you. On the left, Kannon Bodhisattva, Sarutahiko God, and Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto are enshrined. Behind it is a cave. The cave, made from lava from Mt. Fuji, is 25m long. Shoichii Shiragiku Inari Daimyojin is enshrined here, and it is said that he will grant one wish. Fudoin Temple is also known for Tokugawa Ieyasu gave the Iga ninjas, who saved him from a crisis during the Honnoji Incident, land in Shirako, Wako, and entrusted them with guarding the Tokugawa family. Fujidake Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Bushu Shirako Kumano Shrine is located in Shirako, Wako City. Fujidake Shrine is a shrine within the shrine grounds. It is commonly known as Shirako Fuji. It is a Fujizuka mound built for worship of Mount Fuji, and is an amazing 20m high. You can see the entire mountain from the grounds. When you actually climb it, the footing is not bad, so it is easy to climb. From the entrance, there are many stone monuments that are thought to have been donated by Fuji-ko devotees. Some of them are quite large. The view from the top is amazing. Bushu Shirako Kumano Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine located along Shirakojuku Street in Shirako, Wako City. The deities enshrined are Izanami-no-Mikoto Takeminakata-no-Mikoto Hayasu-no-O-Mikoto Hayatama-no-O-Mikoto Kotosaka-no-O-Mikoto Ukanomitama-no-Mikoto A total of six deities are enshrined here. It is an ancient shrine with a long history, said to have been founded a thousand years ago. It is the guardian deity of Shirako. Shirako Suwa Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine is located near the intersection of Kawagoe Kaido and Prefectural Route 68 in Shirako, Wako City. You can see cars passing over the Wako Overpass from the shrine grounds. When a serious illness spread in Shirako-juku during the Edo period, people at the time prayed for a speedy recovery at the Shirako Suwa Shrine. They were instantly cured, and the shrine became known as a ward off illness.
