Sushi Ori was selected as a 'Michelin Selected Restaurant' in the 2025 Michelin Guide Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur & Penang).
Even in 2024, when I visited, it was already listed in the Michelin Guide.
Sushi Ori is considered one of the premium sushi restaurants locally.
I never expected to enjoy such luxurious and fresh high-end omakase in Malaysia.
Whenever I visit a new country or city, I make it a point to read the Michelin Guide and visit one of the listed restaurants.
Sushi Ori truly left a lasting impression on me.
Chef Hideaki Oritsuki (Ori-san) has over 10 years of experience living in Japan, mastering traditional Edomae sushi techniques.
The sushi is crafted with shari made using Akita red vinegar and fresh ingredients flown in from Japan three times a week, creating a sensory masterpiece.
The seating is at the counter, where the chef personally prepares and serves each piece of sushi directly to you.
This is the epitome of authentic omakase.
While the atmosphere isn’t flashy or overly chatty, the chef’s serious and focused demeanor creates an immersive dining experience.
The vinegar rice (shari) is firmer and tangier than typical white rice, and most of the fish is sourced directly from Hokkaido, Japan.
The interior is modern and sleek, with a black theme that exudes elegance and sophistication.
The tableware is stunningly beautiful, making it a joy to examine each piece.
If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I highly recommend Sushi Ori.
