Visit Surprise Cave In Halong Bay Vietnam🇻🇳✨
If you are currently visiting Hanoi in Vietnam don’t forget to take a 1day trip to Halong Bay. To going to Halong Bay you can join 1 day trip or stay at the cruise for 2D1N or 3D2N.
This time, me and my mom are come to our 1st destination in Halong Bay; Hang Sung Sot Cave. Hang Sung Sot Cave is an Icon of Halong Bay. This cave also known as Surprise Cave.
In this cave there are several stones that resemble animals, for example the dragon on the cave ceiling. Halong itself in Vietnamese means descending dragon.
Sung Sot Cave is a cave in a limestone massif. The path to the cave is through the forest greenery; you must climb 50 stone steps and then descend 10 stone steps to reach the entrance.
I highly recommend you to visit Halong Bay & Surprise Cave!

A truly amazing cave a must-see on our trip. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage area, the Hang Sung Sot is one of the finest and widest grottoes of Ha Long Bay and is only accessible by boat. It involves a bit of climbing but easily doable
The cave is lovely and quite interesting to visit. We enjoyed the walk through this cave. The view outside the cave is spectacular! It's totally like a postcard view!

Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Vietnam’s most iconic destinations. Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, this breathtaking bay features over 1,600 limestone islands and islets rising dramatically from emerald-green waters. Each island boasts unique shapes and sizes, forming a surreal seascape that captivates travelers.
Cruising Ha Long Bay is the most popular way to experience its beauty. Traditional wooden junk boats offer day trips and overnight stays, allowing visitors to explore the area in depth. Popular activities include kayaking through secluded lagoons, swimming in hidden coves, and visiting spectacular caves like Sung Sot (Surprise Cave) and Thien Cung (Heavenly Palace Cave). For those seeking a panoramic view, a hike on Ti Top Island reveals stunning vistas of the bay.
The serene ambiance of Ha Long Bay is especially magical during sunrise or sunset when the light plays beautifully across the water and islands. For adventure seekers, Cat Ba Island offers trekking and rock climbing opportunities, adding variety to the tranquil boat rides.

Cave exploring
On our short getaway trip to Vietnam, we visited Halong Bay and the famous Sung Sot Cave there! Also known as the Surprise Cave, it is basically a series of thick limestone formations created by natural phenomena like tectonic movements and intense weather.
Even though the temperatures outside were fairly warm, it was unexpectedly cool inside the cave. We walked though the cave following a well-paved path and it was lit up beautifully with all sorts of coloured lights! Really helped to accentuate the intricate details of the limestone. At the end, we could climb a long flight of stairs up to an opening to get a picturesque view of the entire bay.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
