Saves a huge climb and the ride down is fun! - Visited off peak season (March) and found there was little crowding or waiting in lines. However, dress warm! The wind can be freezing! Summer Palace: - You need at least 4 hours to fully appreciate this! - Avoid the tour guides selling private tours at the gate. They try and rush you through too fast! Temple of Heaven: - Gorgeous!! Can be done in 2-3 hours. Jingshan Park: - Don't miss this, it's very relaxing and only costs 2 yuan!! Bei-hai park is right next door and is also worth the walk. Their is a hutong surrounding this area if you want to take a stroll.
