Sumida Park Cherry Blossoms
Sumida Park covers both banks of the Sumida River and has been selected as one of the top 100 cherry blossom spots. It is said that the cherry trees in the park were planted by the 8th shogun of the Edo period, Tokugawa Yoshimune. The cherry blossom festival held every spring has continued from the Edo period to the present day. During the festival, nearly a thousand cherry trees bloom along both banks of the Sumida River, creating a scene that is uniquely Tokyo, especially with the Tokyo Skytree in the background. At night, the cherry blossom tunnel is adorned with lights, transforming it into a luminous cherry blossom promenade, offering a dreamlike view of the night sakura. For those who want to experience a unique cherry blossom viewing, consider booking a yatai boat or water bus to enjoy the view of the cherry blossoms from the waterway. Another advantage of Sumida Park is its proximity to Senso-ji Temple and the Tokyo Skytree, so shopping enthusiasts can also take time out of their busy schedules to enjoy the cherry blossoms.

A Quiet Melody of Tokyo Sakura
#cherryblossom2024
A quiet place of Tokyo
This green park on the banks of the Sumida River allows visitors to take a break from the noise of the streets of Asakusa and admire the Tokyo Sky Tree Tower rising to the clouds. We advise you to look here during the cherry blossom season.
How to get there
You can get to the park by metro or taxi.
The park entrance is a five-minute walk from Asakusa Station, where the Ginza, Asakusa and Tobu Isezaki lines intersect. The park is located on both banks of the Sumida River.
A narrow strip road of greenery in Asakusa
Here you can walk along the paths between the Azumbashi and Sakurabashi bridges, admire modern sculptures standing in different corners. At the "Green Planet", an art object similar to a colander, those who want to take an unusual photo of the Tokyo Sky Tree tower are going to gather. There is a large playground in the park. Across the river stands the Asahi Beer Hall — some claim it looks like a mug of frothy golden beer.
The Tokyo River Tram dock is located right at the entrance to the park. They will take you to Hamarikyu Park, the Odaibo shopping and entertainment district and many other places.
Cherry blossoms and fireworks, too
In spring, the park is covered with a delicate cherry blossom. It is said that sakura was planted here by Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune. And Sumida Park is one of the best places from where you can admire the most popular Tokyo fireworks show.

A set of high-end film style | Tokyo travel photo guide
🎎 That summer, on the occasion of engagement with my boyfriend, we went to Japan for a trip
Why not plan a trip to Japan for a photo shoot?
Want to take a very natural set of wedding photos
🤔
1⃣️ What about the photographer? 📷
- Fortunately, I found Henry, a super awesome Croatian wedding photographer who lives in Japan. His works are all very naturally captured film style, and so far they are my favorite set of wedding photos.
🤔
2⃣️ What about makeup? 💄
- Going to Tokyo, of course, you have to experience the ancestor-level Japanese makeup, went to Ginza Shiseido global flag store. Remember that the first floor sells cosmetics, the second floor is beauty, the third floor is makeup, you can make an appointment online, makeup is about 400 RMB, all are first-line products, there are Chinese and English-speaking staff, going to Japan for a photo shoot of course has to conform to the aesthetic of that environment, it has to be said that Japan's beauty makeup is really delicate and natural, the makeup artist is very professional, very careful, and later when I booked a wedding makeup artist in China, I realized how reasonable this price is!
🤔
3⃣️ What about clothes? 👗
- Lace has a vintage feel, mainly depending on the environment to choose clothes. After multiple screenings, I chose this dress, the workmanship and texture are very ideal, lace and V-neck are very suitable for the film style.
🤔
4⃣️ Where to shoot? ⛲️
- The suggestion is to find your favorite Japanese attractions online, and then discuss with the photographer the feeling you want, I just wanted to find a very typical Japanese alley, and a very Japanese park, and the photographer's style is really a divine combination. And very coincidentally, the Sumida Park we went to was very quiet and beautiful, the final stop was Azumabashi, which has a particularly good meaning.
👰🏻🤵🏻
Summary: It should be a very wonderful experience in life, during the shooting process everyone chats, walks around, experiences the quiet in the hustle and bustle of Japanese cities, and also gains one of the most precious sets of photos in life. 🚶🏼♀️🚶
This is also a super good cherry blossom shooting location

Sumida Park
Need a break from the hustle & bustle of the city? Then grab some food and make a pitstop at this park. Near Senso-ji, it is peaceful and charming - places to sit and people watch .
Peace and calm with Tokyo Skytree view. Take a walk from Senso-Ji Temple about 5 minutes from west exit of the temple with less crowded of people. And enjoy the view along the way.

In the past two days, the cherry blossoms in Tokyo have blossomed! In addition to the previously recommended niche in the deep river, Tokyo's classic cherry blossoms are still going to play a card. There are hundreds of cherry trees in the "Putian Park" on both sides of the Tagawa River. There is also a quaint Niujin Shrine, which is suitable for cherry blossom viewing. ! Moreover, the park is near the Skytree, and you can take a cherry blossom clear sky tower with a small fresh feeling of postcards~
Walk over the "Putian Park" and cross the bridge to the Sensoji Temple. The cherry blossoms of Sensoji Temple are also very classic, although the cherry blossom season is here. Everyone is everywhere, but with a little caution, you can still take a picture of the cherry blossoms with fewer people. Here you can also take a panoramic view of Sumida River + Sumida Park Sakura + Skytree!
Take the cherry tree to take pictures of Tips:
1 to try to pluck up the scene and avoid the crowds in the lower part;
2 with the ancient temple and shrine building atmosphere, you can shoot cherry blossoms with telephoto end Or architectural close-up;
3 with cherry blossoms for the foreground, the blurred cherry blossoms set off the corners of the eaves are particularly good looking;
4 try to use the vertical composition, which can bring a better sense of depth and a cleaner picture.
Master these few tips, you can also shoot a few feminine fans in the popular cherry blossoms!
