[2025 Singapore Restaurant] Travel Guide for Sukiya (Updated Apr)

SUKIYA is one of the longest established and biggest Gyudon chains in Japan. It is known for its affordable and convienient beef bowls. When SUKIYA first came to Singapore, I was ecstatic! Gyudon is one of my most loved Japanese food and I’ll have it without fail every time I visit Japan. At SUKIYA Singapore, I can safely say the standard is consistent to what you can get in Japan. That is the beauty of a chain restaurant like theirs, you always know what you are going to get. My standard order is always the Gyudon with negi and an onsen egg. However this time I decided to try the specials, Gyudon with okra and dashi. The beef was delicious as usual and went surprisingly well with the slimy okra. SUKIYA also offers kids meals which is thoughtful as children can’t finish a adult portion on their own. 10/10 would recommend!

Food wastage in Singapore is ridiculously high. Therefore, I try my best to reduce food waste and eventually carbon emission. At Sukiya, the famous gyudon shop from Japan, you can choose the size of rice bowl that you want for your gyudon, from S to XL. Choosing what you can eat is important in reducing food wastage and I love this bowl size concept beacause everyone has differnt eating food portions. Besides food wastage, sukiya serves really delicious beef rice bowls. I ordered a medium size and the rice with beef was sufficient for me, not too little not too much. They do sell other kinds of rice bowl like japanese curry rice and salmon with beef rice bowls. Kids meal can be found in their menu too and that's great for families with kids, and each meal comes with a yakult drink and corn as sides. All time kids favourite! There are plenty of seats in the restaurant and you don't have to wait long for a table. #tripblazers

#2024wish Sukiya has been my go to place for affordable meal. They have a huge variety of gyudon to choose from and always launch new product from time to time. You could even customise the size of your meal ! Love that the quality is always consistent and the service is always so prompt and efficient. In 2024, I want to visit Japan 🇯🇵 for a bowl of authentic gyudon !

#2024wish Sukiya is the largest gyudon chain restaurant in Japan. So happy that I got to have a taste of Japan in Singapore without breaking my wallet! I was so spoiled by the huge variety of meat and rice options on their menu. Of course I had to have their signature item and also their best seller - GYUDON 🍚 It is so so affordable with a medium portion of gyudon with egg 🥚 costs less than SGD 8! Not forget to mention, it was so tasty with tender beef slices and onions simmered in their secret recipe sauce, all atop a bed of warm Japanese white rice!
