Aomori Prefecture is located at the northernmost tip of Honshu, Japan. It is a region surrounded by the sea on three sides, with rich natural landscapes and unique culture. Don't miss these when you visit Aomori! Transportation Shinkansen: Take the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo to the main city of Aomori Prefecture, which takes about 3 hours. Must-visit Attractions Hirosaki Park: Famous for cherry blossoms, about 2,600 cherry trees bloom in spring, and there are maple leaves and chrysanthemums in autumn. Oirase Stream: A 14-kilometer-long stream with multiple waterfalls and winding streams, suitable for walking or cycling. Nebuta Museum WA・RASSE: Displays the history and lanterns of Aomori Nebuta Festival, and you can experience the festival atmosphere even during non-festival periods. In February 2021, I finally have the opportunity to go to Aomori~ The first stop of the Aomori itinerary is the Hakkoda Ski Resort. I originally wanted to go see the tree ice (pictures 1 and 2). However, due to heavy snow, the cable car stopped running, so the trip was cancelled (see pictures three and four). After staying outside for a while, it started snowing heavily and it got a bit cold, so we decided to go soak in a hot spring (see picture five) on a whim. Upon entering, it was discovered that this shop has been a hot spring resort since the Edo period and has been a famous hot spring shop until now. In 1954, after environmental improvement, it was designated as the "Number One National Preservation Hot Spring Resort". The shop also displays Aomori's specialty "Nebuta" - translated as "Sleep Demon" in Chinese (Figure 6). A special feature of the hot spring is a mixed bath that can accommodate thousands of people at once. (See pictures 7 and 8) Hmm...I was still a little shy about it, so in the end I went to a separate bathhouse for men and women. I only took a photo by the sign on the other side, pretending that I had gone to the mixed bath. In the afternoon, I went to an art museum that specializes in exhibiting the famous Aomori product "Nebuta" (pictures 10, 11, and 12). Facility name: Nebuta no Ie Wa Rasse 📍Detailed address: 1-1-1 Yasukata, Aomori-shi, Aomori-ken 030-0803, Japan Dinner is quite special - milk ramen with butter added (Figure 13). The restaurant also has miso milk ramen, butter corn ramen, pickled plum ramen, natto ramen, and curry ramen. It looks very unique...if you're interested, you can give it a try. Sukayu Onsen is located in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. It is located in the Hakkoda Mountains, and on this day it was crowded with #mountain climbers.
