Stop aimlessly searching for travel tips! The ultimate Leshan guide is here.
Hey friends👋 As a foodie who loves to travel, Leshan is truly a gem💎 in my heart. I'm back with a meticulously crafted, super-detailed travel guide. Without further ado, let's get to the good stuff👇
Pre-Trip Preparations
🎈Documents: ID card, a small amount of cash (though mobile payments are widely accepted, it's always good to be prepared).
🎈Clothing: Pack appropriate clothing according to the season. Leshan summers are quite hot🌞, so remember to bring light, breathable summer clothes and a sun-protective jacket. Winters aren't too cold, but a warm coat is still recommended.
🎈Toiletries: Toiletries, skincare products, cosmetics, sunscreen, sunglasses🕶️, etc. Pack whatever makes you comfortable.
Transportation Guide
✈️ Airplane: Leshan doesn't have its own airport. You can fly to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport or Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and then take the high-speed train to Leshan. The train ride takes about 40–50 minutes and is very convenient🚄.
🚄 High-speed Train: Take the train directly to Leshan Station. As soon as you get off, you'll feel one step closer to all the delicious food🤤. The signs inside the station are very clear, just follow them to exit the station easily.
🚗 Local Transportation: I highly recommend taking a taxi or riding a shared bike. Taxis are relatively affordable, and shared bikes allow you to stop and enjoy the scenery along the way. Leshan is not a big city, and many attractions and food streets are within easy reach. It's super relaxing to explore by bike🚲.
Accommodation Recommendations
🏠 I recommend staying in the Shizhong District, which is close to various food streets and attractions, making it convenient to get around. For example, near Zhanggongqiao, you can go directly to eat delicious food in the evening, and after eating, walk a few steps back to the hotel to rest. It couldn't be better. The prices are also quite reasonable, with plenty of cost-effective hotels and guesthouses to choose from. Book online in advance to find great deals😁.
Must-Try Food
🍗 Sweet-Skinned Duck: You must try it fresh out of the oven! The skin is crispy and caramelized, and the duck meat is tender and juicy. One bite, and you'll be hooked. I always buy half a duck every time I go, eating it as I walk around. I just can't stop. Recommended shops: Zhao Duck, Ji Liu Niang Sweet-Skinned Duck🦆.
🥘 Qiaojiao Beef: The beef is cooked just right, tender and smooth. The soup base is made from beef bones and is incredibly flavorful. You can pair it with a dry dip or dipping sauce, and order a vegetable platter for a nutritious and delicious meal. You can eat your fill for CNY 30–50 per person. Recommended shop: Feng Si Niang Qiaojiao Beef.
🍢 Bobo Chicken: Various skewers soaked in chili oil, just looking at it makes your mouth water. Chicken, chicken gizzards, tripe, vegetables…take whatever you want. Each skewer is coated in rich, spicy, and savory broth. It's so delicious you won't be able to stop. The price is also very reasonable, calculated by the skewer, at CNY 20–30 per person. Recommended shop: Ye Popo Bobo Chicken.
🧠 Tofu Pudding: A Leshan specialty snack with a delicate texture that melts in your mouth. It's topped with crispy fried pork, crushed peanuts, deep-fried dough sticks, and other seasonings. Mix it all up before eating, and every bite is super satisfying. Have a bowl for breakfast to start your day full of energy. Recommended shop: Jiu Jiu Tofu Pudding.
🍧 Ice Jelly: A must-have antidote for spicy food! The ice jelly is crystal clear, served with brown sugar syrup, glutinous rice cakes, crushed peanuts, fruit, and other toppings. It's cool, refreshing, and sweet but not greasy. A bite of ice jelly followed by a bite of spicy food is the perfect combination. Recommended shop: Chuan Mei Fancy Ice Jelly.
