[2024 Luxor Stay] Travel Guide for Steigenberger Nile Palace Luxor - Convention Center (Updated Nov)
Steigenberger Hotel.
Egypt is a great place to visit, with its monuments, culture, desert, Nile River, Red Sea, and other unique features, plus low prices. It's definitely worth a visit!
Route: Our itinerary was Cairo–Aswan–Luxor–Hurghada, a total of 9 days and 8 nights, covering the main attractions in Egypt. We were lucky enough to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum on the fourth day after its official opening.
Hotel: My favorite hotel was Basma in Aswan, next to the Old Cataract Hotel, with a beautiful view of the Nile River (p78). I also liked the Steigenberger Hotel in Luxor, which faces the Nile River and has a pier where you can take a felucca (p9). The Desert Rose Resort in Hurghada is also nice, an all-inclusive resort.
Food: Overall, Egyptian food is much better than expected.

⭐️Hotel Design: Located by the Nile River, the overall architecture resembles the bow of a cruise ship, surrounding an open space with a pool and courtyard. The exterior walls are painted light brown-red, giving it a Mediterranean design style. Almost every room has a balcony facing outward, offering city or river views. The hotel is perfect for photography both indoors and outdoors.
⭐️Hotel Facilities: The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy, with ample air conditioning. Even with an extra bed in a standard room, it doesn't feel crowded. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower, with a kettle and hairdryer provided, and unlimited bottled drinking water.
🍱Dining Options: The hotel offers a variety of dining choices with three well-reviewed restaurants, including Italian, Thai, and Lebanese cuisine. The food quality is among the best in Luxor. Additionally, there is a lobby café where you can enjoy coffee and ice cream, perfect for cooling off in the hot summer.
⛵️The hotel has an exclusive sailboat dock for guests to enjoy Nile River cruises at sunrise and sunset. The prices are clearly marked and reasonable, costing 250 EGP per person for a round trip and 150 EGP per person for a one-way trip, saving you the time and effort of bargaining with sailboat owners outside the hotel.
🏨The hotel is located on the east bank, within a 15-minute walking distance to the city center where you can find KFC, McDonald's, and experience the local street food culture. It is also convenient to visit cultural heritage sites like the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple, which are within a 20-minute drive. You can easily get a ride through indrive.

Luxor must-do | Averaging 20 per person for a boat ride, the non-motorized sailboat is awesome
Finally arrived at the Nile River, which I've only seen in movies.
It's only at the first sight of it that one can truly feel the charm of the Nile.
Once in Luxor,
you'll find yourself surrounded by the Nile.
In awe, you'll want to get even closer to the Nile.
The non-motorized sailboat is arguably a must-do when in Luxor.
Sitting in the sailboat cruising the Nile,
letting the sunlight freely pour over you,
watching the sun's reflection glittering on the waves,
taking in all the beautiful scenery,
holding a camera to capture the wonderful moments,
and keeping the beauty of this instant in your mind.
If you encounter the Nile at sunset,
the happiness of that moment is beyond words.
Value for money:
High! Mainly because it's affordable
