Around New York|The coolest industrial town travels through old movies
A 2-hour drive from New York, this is a unique industrial town
It's like the New York version of PA Highland Park, with free access to the steel mill
This place is known as the Christmas town, a century-old town built in 1741
The most amazing thing is the steel plant ruins that was transformed into a resort.
This was once the second largest steel production site in the United States and was abandoned in 2001.
You can walk up the stairs and experience the prosperity of the steel plant in the past up close.
Now all you can see are rusty facilities and dilapidated factories.
The building across the street is a lively modern cultural and art center
It's like walking on the street at the dividing line of time, where classicism collides with modernity
The Lehigh River divides Bethlehem into two parts, north and south.
In the north, you can visit the classical old town, and in the south, you can visit campuses and factories.

📍SteelStacks

This gives the town a unique and cool industrial style.
Even though the steel mill has been abandoned, it is still full of retro feeling.
Many skyscrapers and the steel beams of the Golden Gate Bridge in the United States come from here.
Due to the sharp drop in demand for steel products and the intensification of overseas competition
It was finally closed in 2003 and can be walked on the metal plank road
📍Lehigh University
Next to the steel plant is the private Lehigh University, which is famous for its engineering.
Built in 1865, it is located on the hillside of Nanshan Mountain and can be visited by car.
Feel the domineering campus that takes up an entire mountain, with a retro style
The feeling of driving around is that students have to climb mountains to go to and from school.
The student dormitories are well-arranged, and you can come here to enjoy the autumn scenery
The view at the top of the mountain is very good and there is a parking space for tourists which is convenient
📍Historic Industrial Quarter
You can visit the art shops on Main Street. There is also a
The oldest bookstore in the United States, Moravian Book Shop
The historical park by the river preserves many old buildings of the time.
However, I feel that the reviews of restaurants on the main street are average, so I went to the surrounding areas to find food
📍The Outlets at Wind Creek
After visiting the town, you can also go to the Outlet Shopping Plaza for some shopping fun.
Located in the south, within the resort area along with Casino and SteelStacks

Around New York I Industrial style town The oldest bookstore in North America
Finished checking in at the former site of Bethlehem SteelStacks’ industrial plant campus
You can drive to the other side of the river to visit the old town, which also has a retro feel.
The old town is not very big, and it takes less than half an hour to walk along the main street.
There are many retro shops and bars on the street, and there are cute dolls on the street.
Main St also houses the Moravian Book Shop, the oldest bookstore in North America.
Built in 1745, it is located next to the church. You can check in and visit it together.
However, the restaurants on the main street seem to have average reviews, so you can find food nearby.

The earliest industrial park in the United States was established along the banks of Monocacy Creek
There are still several historical buildings preserved by the river here, and you can go downhill all the way.
Walk to see the waterworks from 1762, the tannery from 1765, and the mill from 1869
In the mid-19th century, buildings in this area began to be demolished and rebuilt.
In the 1960s, the area was restored and protected.
On the streets, you can also see many blue explanatory boards telling the history of the town.
And there are Bluetooth players playing music in the tree stumps beside the road.

New York City I Super cool steel mill park and autumn concert
On the way to Jim Thorpe, I saw this steel town nearby
On the way back, I added a stop for a half-day tour.
The remains of the steel plant are in Bethlehem. There are many treasure towns in Pennsylvania.
This was once the second largest steel manufacturing and shipbuilding company in the United States.
Closed in 2003 due to increased competition and reduced demand for steel products
The Golden Gate Bridge in California and the Empire State Building in New York both come from steel from here.
There is also Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, and the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
It has now been converted into a cultural and arts center, and also hosts outdoor concerts.
During the weekend, people have brought stools to the lawn outside to reserve seats.
There is a visitor center on the first floor, which contains relevant exhibits and introductions to the steel plant.
There is also a dining car outside, which is shaped like a car, where you can buy food.

Park trails closed on Tuesday

The trail is located on the second floor, with a metal plank road laid in the old site of the steel plant.
You can see the rusty facilities up close, and there is a light show at night
The steel plant's factory buildings and other buildings have also been preserved for display purposes.
But you can't go in, it's surrounded by fences, you can only look at the exterior
Even though the steel mill is abandoned, it still has a retro feel and is great for taking photos.
There are casinos and outlets near the steel plant where you can go shopping and check in.
Standing on the trail, you can also see the autumn colors of Nanshan Mountain and the houses halfway up the mountain.
