[2025 Singapore Restaurant] Travel Guide for State Of Affairs Thomson (Updated Mar)

We find ourselves back in Upper Thomson once again for this new coffeeshop addition! Just neighbours with Woodlands Sourdough, State of Affairs are now in their soft launch phase, serving up daily brews and some munch. ☕️ The interior is pretty small, with an island bar counter and few seatings. There’s something about tiny coffee shops that make the whole experience more personable. We had the 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 made with a Brazilian natural. 🇧🇷 Our only peeve about this is that the milk is too flat, but the flavour profile is certainly a balanced brightness with a tinge of guava juiciness! ☺️ The food menu is still within the test phase, therefore it’s tiny and there’s no price to it yet. We had the 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗶 and the 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗼𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗲. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the food certainly tasted better than it looked. The croquette is nicely fried and the aioli adds a herbalicious kick. 🥔 The fried chicken is sweet and savoury, and the meat juicy and flavourful. 🍗 Overall, pretty ordinary but definitely worth a try! #singaporetrip#cafe

#singaporetrip One of my favorite past times in Singapore is cafe-hopping and Thomson is another area where concentration of restaurants and cafes can be found. Since I am usually near the area, I decided to try some of the cafes. All the cafes I've tried here have simple yet nice interiors. I visited the cafes during lunch time and all three are equally busy. - Tomo Cafe: opened recently, food and drinks are good. - State of Affairs: industrial interiors, loved the bagel sandwich I had here. - SOD cafe: my favorite among the three in terms of food. Everything I ordered here from the two times I've visited were all good. All the cafes I've mentioned are worth visiting and near each other. I believe the most value for money cafe is SOD as the prices are not too steep and the serving is big. Recreational activities can also be found in the area like spas, beauty shops, fitness and art studios you can check out when around the area too. The nearest mrt station is Thomson station of brown line.

#singapore What a cute little quaint hidden gem! Simple feel good food made extremely tasty. Coffee was well done, and served in aesthetic pottery. Love the rustic charm of this place. And staff were really welcoming and friendly! enjoyed the vibe, the coffee, the people, the food!! quite convenient to get to too, just a walk away from thomson mrt. Quality coffee with tasty food at very reasonable pricing, definitely a place to go!
