Destination Introduction
Gibraltar is located at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula in Europe, guarding the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. It is a British overseas territory with an area of only about 6.8 square kilometers and a population of about 30,000. It is a blend of British, Spanish and North African cultures, with a unique geographical location, rich historical sites and natural landscapes.
Transportation
• By plane: Gibraltar International Airport is located in the heart of the city, and planes cross the Strait of Cadiz when taking off and landing, which is very unique. There are direct flights from the UK and other European cities, but flights are rare and may require a transfer.
• By road: From Malaga or another city in Spain, take the A-7 motorway through Algeciras and La Línea de la Concepción into Gibraltar.
• Ferry: You can take a ferry from Tangier, Morocco to Tarifa, Spain, and then transfer to Gibraltar by land.
Tourist attractions
• The Rock of Gibraltar: The iconic attraction of Gibraltar, about 130 meters high and 180 meters wide. You can take a cable car or walk up the mountain, passing the Mediterranean Steps along the way, and you can also see wild Barbary macaques.
• St. Michael's Cave: Located inside a huge rock, it is famous for its spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. There is also an open theater inside the cave, which often hosts concerts and performances.
• Europa Point: At the southernmost tip of Gibraltar, there is a white and red lighthouse, from which you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Strait of Gibraltar and even the African continent when the weather is good.
• Moorish Castle: One of the oldest buildings in Gibraltar, it offers a great view over the entire island and the strait.
• Gibraltar Nature Reserve: Explore the island’s wildlife and flora, which includes macaques, many seabirds and rare plants.
Food Recommendations
• Gibraltar Fish and Chips: Local white fish, battered and deep fried, served with thick-cut fries.
• Paella: Rice-based, cooked with seafood such as shrimp, mussels, squid, saffron and spices.
• Gibraltar Kebabs: Influenced by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, using lamb or chicken, accompanied by vegetables and spices.
• English Afternoon Tea: In many cafes and hotels you can enjoy traditional English afternoon tea, which includes sandwiches, cakes and tea.
Shopping and Entertainment
• Main Street: The most popular place in Gibraltar. There are many souvenir shops and cosmetics shops on the street. It is also a duty-free area, suitable for shopping.

• Gibraltar is a British overseas territory and Chinese citizens holding a British visa can enter without a visa.
• The local currency is the Gibraltar Pound, which is exchanged 1:1 with the British Pound.
• During the peak tourist season, there are many tourists in Gibraltar, so you need to take care of your personal belongings.
