Historic buildings
St George's Hall, built in 1854, located across the street from Liverpool LimeStreet railway station, is considered one of the world's outstanding examples of neoclassical buildings. This majestic building also shows a strong Roman style, with 16 solemn and elegant granite columns, a large corridor-style vault, and four lion sculptures in front of the hall square. It's eye-catching, and its interior is equally impressive. In 1954, the lobby of St. George's Hall was covered with 20,000 Minton tiles, which were elegant yet luxurious. Nearly 100,000 people lined up to visit, just to see Huarong. The concert hall on the second floor is decorated with arabesque patterns, and a large pipe organ is placed in the hall, which is magnificent.
