It was a shopping trip with sisters to Seoul, Korea. We started our trip at Insadong, a bustling neighborhood blending modern and traditional elements. Insadong’s main street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and craft stores selling ceramics, handmade paper📄 , and local teas 🍵 . It’s the perfect place to grab souvenirs, but what made it memorable was the photo ops 📸 We explored Ssamziegil, a colorful, open-air shopping complex with unique architecture where you can capture vibrant, quirky shots from the various floors and rooftop garden. 📍44 Insadong-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul A must-visit for anyone in Seoul, Myeongdong is a shopping paradise with countless stores and brand outlets on both sides of the street. We visited in the afternoon to catch the vibrant crowd and colorful 🌈 displays, but evening is also ideal as the lights add a magical glow to the area. It’s the ultimate destination for skincare and cosmetics, where brands like Innisfree, Etude House, and Laneige all have flagship stores. We also tried various street foods like the delicious hotteok and tteokbokki, adding a savory taste to our shopping adventure. You’ll want to snap some shots 📸 with the lively street vendors and the neon-lit storefronts! 📍Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul We also explored Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), which is more than just a shopping location! It’s an architectural marvel. Known for its futuristic design by Zaha Hadid, the DDP is perfect for creative photoshoots. We recommend visiting in the late afternoon and staying until evening when the LED roses light up the plaza, creating a romantic and surreal vibe. DDP is home to fashion shops, exhibitions, and markets. All the shops I introduced this time are on Insadong Main Street, so it's easy to find! This is a special shopping mall created within Insadong. It is an outdoor shopping complex and connects each floor within a spiral manner.This means that you do not need to climb stairs or take the escalator to go up/down the floors. You can just walk around the building as the different floors are connected via slopes. Go up to their rooftop and you can get an amazing view of Insadong. #springitinerary When I was in South Korea Seoul I walked all the way to ssamziegil from ikseondong area and thought this place was quite pretty and interesting. There are quite a number of souvenir shops and classes here that you can sign up for if I recall. Very cool and the shops are quite crowded too. Many tourists just taking some nice photos here and chilling around. Overall suggest to drop by if you’re by the area to just take a look around. Quite nice.

Discovered a new hanok cafe in the heart of Insadong, Poongsimdang! As expected from a brand famous for healthy snacks, everything from the atmosphere to the bread feels full of sincerity. In particular, the sugar-free chocolate bread is JMT, and the price is reasonable at 2,000 won, so I bought another one… They sell a variety of products, including grain cookies, vegan bread, gluten-free desserts, and even traditional Korean desserts, so if you like desserts, you’ll have a lot to look around. The cafe is a two-story hanok with warm lighting, cozy tables, and a quiet atmosphere—it’s healing itself. Every time I visit Seoul, I usually head to the bustling downtown area where you can find everything. But today, I decided to change things up a bit and explore the Insadong area 🌷 🚇 From Anguk Station (안국역) on Subway Line 3, take Exit 6, which is in the opposite direction of Changdeokgung Palace. After walking for about 5 minutes 🚶♀️➡️, you'll find Ssamziegil, a unique shopping center. True to its name, Ssamzie (meaning "bag") and gil (meaning "path"), the exterior gives off a mysterious and exciting vibe, making it hard to guess what kinds of shops are inside. As you climb the stairs at the entrance, you'll find a gently spiraling ramp that connects all the way up to the 4th floor. While browsing the shops, you'll eventually find yourself at the rooftop without even realizing it. The pathways are filled with artistic touches, making it enjoyable just to walk around 🫧 The shops in this center specialize in traditional Korean crafts, offering products that are both rooted in tradition and modern in design. You'll be captivated by the high-quality and stylish items 💫 There’s even a shop where you can create customizable keychains, which have become increasingly popular in various stores recently 🍬 The area surrounding Ssamziegil is like a traditional shopping street, lined with stores selling tea sets and clothing inspired by hanbok.
