Nanjixiang Temple, Lingchuan County, Shanxi
Nanjixiang Temple is a complete complex with two courtyards, a mountain gate (Tianwang Hall), a middle hall, a rear hall, left and right side halls, and two corridors. The middle hall is the oldest, built in the Song Dynasty. The rear hall was built in the Jin Dynasty and renovated in the Yuan Dynasty. The mountain gate was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, but still retains Yuan Dynasty techniques. The rest of the buildings are from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The middle hall is square with three rooms, a single-eave nine-ridge roof, large dougong brackets under the eaves, and a simple and elegant structure.
