I ultimately chose Andaz Bali, one of the top-tier brands under Hyatt. The environment is comfortable, and the service is attentive. Whether you want to enjoy a laid-back sunset, explore local food at night markets, or cycle along the coast, it's incredibly convenient and highly recommended. Hotel Location and Transportation Andaz Bali is located on the main road of the Sanur area, right in a bustling district. Just outside the hotel, you'll find restaurants, local bars, coffee shops, and all necessary amenities. Directly in front of the hotel is Sanur Beach, which is just a 2-minute bike ride away. You can enjoy the sea breeze in the morning or take a leisurely stroll at sunset. The hotel is about a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport, making it quite convenient with a location that's lively yet peaceful. Room Design The room style exceeded my expectations! The design combines minimalist villa modernity with Balinese cultural elements. Almost no crowds! If you’re after tranquil strolls and photogenic gardens, this is it. There are few visitors, so you will have plenty of time to walk alone. Bonus: Early morning is pure magic. 📍Tirta Gangga Palace. Famous for the Insta-ready carp pond - but expect crowds and a much smaller area than you’d guess from photos. You can grab a bite to eat at the indoor cafe overlooking the ponds and fountains. Children won't be bored either - they can feed the carp. Arrive early or late for the best pics! 📍Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang Temple. The split gates are iconic for that “gates of heaven” shot. Bali boasts a vast number of luxurious and unique hotels, making it sometimes difficult to choose. Here are a few hotels I have personally tested and recommend staying at. The Udaya Resorts & Spa is located in Ubud. It features an excellent spa with a flower bath, beautiful grounds, and delicious food. Nearby, you can find rice terraces. The rooms are equipped with dehumidifiers, eliminating any musty smell—a common issue in many Bali hotels. Here, everything smells fresh and is perfect for relaxation. Bali Dacha, as a hotel, did not impress me, but it does have a beautiful spa with flower baths and decent massages. It is located in Ubud, away from the main road. There is no direct car access to the hotel, so you need to walk up stairs, and navigating inside can be challenging. Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort Bali left me with mixed feelings. The grounds are stunning, with villas shaped like cocoons and a beautiful spa center. They also offer floating breakfasts in the large pool upon request in the morning. However, the rooms have a musty smell, and the food in the restaurant is not tasty. The location is remote from the main infrastructure, and it takes about an hour and a half to drive to the airport.

This time, I stumbled upon a newly opened, budget-friendly bamboo villa with a private pool for two—and I immediately decided to give it a try! The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine, leaving a great first impression. 🌿 Stepping into the resort was a healing experience: lush greenery and a beautiful semi-open design. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a semi-open reception area with a view extending to the bamboo groves and greenery beyond. The overall atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. This small resort features around ten double bamboo pool villas. Though compact, the environment is exquisitely designed and surrounded by greenery. 🏡 Inside the Villa: The first floor includes a living room, a small kitchen, and a bathroom, while the second floor houses a bedroom with a balcony. The simple yet cozy design exudes a therapeutic vibe that made me gasp in awe the moment I stepped in! - Bamboo structure + semi-open design, accompanied by the sounds of nature like chirping insects and flowing water, creating a super relaxing ambiance. - The first floor features a semi-open living room with a comfy hanging chair perfect for lounging all morning. - The private pool is impeccably clean, tempting you to take a dip every day. - Semi-open bathroom: a large round bathtub, a comfortable rain shower, and dual sinks for convenience. - Bright lighting at night eliminates any fear of darkness often associated with bamboo houses. ☕️ The small kitchen is equipped with a capsule coffee machine, a microwave, and a fridge stocked with complimentary drinks. 🛏 Second-floor bedroom: - Equipped with air conditioning for comfort and an electric mosquito repellent to keep bugs at bay. - A safe is also provided in the room. The entire villa blends seamlessly with nature while offering modern amenities, making it an incredibly comfortable stay. Additional perks: - Yoga mats are available for rent. - You can also sign up for yoga classes and other workshops and activities. Although my schedule was packed this time, I’d love to try them in the future. - Breakfast can be enjoyed at the restaurant or delivered to your room if you inform the butler via WhatsApp the night before—such a luxurious experience! 🔎 Three things to note (but they didn’t affect my satisfaction): 1. Weak soundproofing (an inherent issue with semi-open accommodations) Due to the bamboo structure and ventilated design, you can hear loud neighbors more clearly, as well as the sounds of nature (insects, birds, and flowing water). 👉 If you’re particularly sensitive to noise, you might want to consider this. 2. Insect presence (but less than expected) I was mentally prepared for this, given the nature-centric accommodation. During my stay, I only encountered a few small insects and some harmless black ants near the kitchen’s bamboo pillars, which were entirely within an acceptable range. 3. Water usage caution The water storage system goes into standby mode at night. If you happen to use up the water tank, there might be a brief water outage. However, the system resumes normal operation after 9 AM. 🌟 Conclusion: A high-value bamboo villa that combines nature, comfort, and affordability. Breakfast was okay (nothing exceptional, but still fine to start the day). The main highlight for us was the location – right in the heart of a lively street, close to everything. Of course, you can hear some of the bars at night, but it didn’t bother us too much.

Our stay at this hotel was simply unforgettable! The rooms were absolutely stunning, spacious, and offered breathtaking views of the jungle. The overall atmosphere was warm, friendly, and truly welcoming — it immediately made us feel at home. The food was exceptional, satisfying even the most demanding tastes, with every meal prepared to perfection. Most importantly, the staff were always there for us with genuine kindness and care. They went above and beyond to offer support and understanding to every traveler. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommended.

The place is incredibly pretty for the budget - the rooms are small and clean, we got a two story room with the bed above (maybe accessibility issues) and even came with a hammock. The pool looks decently clean, maybe not for a swim. The hotel staff was super friendly, apart from a small confusion where there was nobody present when we tried to check in, it was really nice. There's no real car parking near the hotel, and no safe/ chain lock on the balcony door. However the property is incredibly pretty with good services and we felt very safe during our stay.

The grilled fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with an Indonesian-style seasoning that wasn't spicy. It came with a variety of side dishes, small portions offering variety, making it incredibly satisfying to eat together. The most heartwarming thing was – a little kitten accompanied us throughout the meal, gently tugging at my trouser leg, seemingly asking for some – so adorable! The restaurant has a lovely open ambiance to it, and we were tucked up in a little outdoor area overlooking the pool which was lovely on this nice evening. The staff were aplenty and very attentive. Drinks and food came out at a blistering pace when ordered, but no hurry by the staff to rush you though - imagine a magician that makes your drinks and food appear instantly, then with an “enjoy”, disappears into the background to watch in a non creepy way for whenever you may need them again. The food was very well executed. Fresh with reasonable portions. Wagyu features highly. 12 hours cooked brisket is a tasty, rich little number. Unsurprisingly, with the majority of the menu ingredients imported, the evenings cost can sneak away on you.
