Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao New World Union Hotel Public Area Review
Due to personal experiences, I used to prefer hotels with a European castle style, so my favorite domestic hotel is still Dalian Yifang Castle LC, and The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin is also good. Usually, I will prioritize checking in at hotels with a European classical exterior, but now my preference is gradually shifting towards Chinese-style hotels, such as Songpin and Guantang series. I also hope that domestic hotels can inherit more traditional essence, promote cultural confidence, and make domestic hotels bigger and stronger.
In order to make it easier for everyone to use the various benefits of the Zhenxiang card, today I will continue to write about the hotels under Accor for your reference.
In fact, many times, what determines the architectural and design style of a hotel is not the hotel brand itself, but the hotel owner, especially some more dominant owners, whose hotels will have a distinct owner style.
So, when you stay in two hotels from different groups and feel a sense of 'deja vu', yes, these two hotels may be owned by the same owner, and among these hotel owners, 'New World Union' is undoubtedly the easiest to distinguish.
For example, Sheraton Yinchuan, Sofitel Xining, and the Sofitel Shanghai New World Union that I'm going to write about today, all without exception, are gorgeous European palace styles. In fact, this style is quite suitable for the Sofitel brand, after all, it's the biological son of the French Accor Group. If it's Sheraton, there will be some cognitive bias.
So, how is this hotel? Let's start today's immersive stay experience with the host.
1️⃣, Exterior and Lobby
However, to be fair, the exterior of this Sofitel is quite beautiful. Although it is street-facing, this road is very quiet. The white French palace exterior accurately explains New World Union's consistent aesthetics.
The hotel's drop-off lobby is quite large, the terrain is a bit undulating, if you go around to the back of the hotel, you will find it has become a commanding position, you can see the outdoor area of the all-day dining restaurant.
The hotel's lobby can be said to be quite gorgeous, whether it's the seemingly endless chandeliers or the intricate parquet on the floor, they can blind people's eyes.
There is a rest area in the middle, and behind it is the double-height all-day dining restaurant.
The corridor leading to the elevator is also luxurious. In fact, among the European-style hotels in China, the ones from New World Union are not bad, at least they won't appear vulgar, and the texture and atmosphere are well grasped.
You say this is enough for a Ritz, I think in Shanghai, it's really more pleasing to the eye than a certain St. Regis that was originally prepared to hang Sofitel.
The hotel is actually the owner's property - the supporting facilities of New World Union International Center. I came here for a stroll when I was free, there were few people, and the scenery was also good, it's a great place to take photos.
