Nho Que River is a tributary of Gam River. The river originates from China, when flowing into Vietnam, it creates a section of the Vietnam-China border in the far north of the country in Lung Cu and Ma Le communes, Dong Van district, then flows into the interior of Ha Giang province

1️⃣ Flow
The upper part of the river in China originates from Nghiem Son mountain area - Yunnan province of China, at an altitude of 1,800 m, flows east then southeast when reaching the border. The border section is 16.4 km long.
Entering Vietnam at Lung Cu commune, the river passes through Dong Van and Meo Vac districts of Ha Giang province, and flows into Gam river at Na Phong in Ly Bon commune, Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province
The river is 192 km long, the part flowing in Vietnam is 46 km long. The basin area is 6,052 km² (the part in Vietnam is 2,010 km²), the average altitude is 1,255 m, the average slope is 18.7%. The river flows through a canyon-shaped valley. The average annual water volume is about 2.69 km³, equivalent to an average annual water flow of 85 m³/s and an annual flow module of 15.8 l/s/km².
A tributary is the Nhiem River on the right bank, flowing into Nho Que at the border of 3 communes: Niem Son (Ha Giang province), Duc Hanh and Ly Bon (Cao Bang province).
In Vietnam, there are 2 hydropower groups on the Nho Que River with 5 factories.
