Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali: Romance and Nature Blend on a Clifftop
Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali, is the first Six Senses property on the island. Like other Six Senses hotels, it embraces the brand's signature raw style. The cascading architecture follows the contours of the hillside, blending seamlessly with the surroundings, creating an ultimate romance between the sky, sea, and cliffs. Located in Pecatu at Bali's southernmost tip, the hotel is near Uluwatu Temple, a sacred site considered one of Bali's core spiritual pillars.
Uluwatu boasts a rich history, beautiful beaches, captivating surf spots, and an eclectic mix of wellness and dining venues. Uninterrupted ocean views are available from every angle. The hotel's cascading architecture follows the contours of the hillside, blending seamlessly with the surroundings, creating an ultimate romance between the sky, sea, and cliffs.
The hotel's ocean-view pool left the most profound impression on me. Unlike other luxury resorts in Bali, Six Senses has created a tiered lagoon pool. The irregular infinity pool, resembling waves, cascades towards the endless horizon, offering panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. At the edge of the infinity pool stands a magical sky gate, like an entrance to paradise, a perfect backdrop for photos.
I stayed in the Sky Pool Suite. The room's interior adheres to Six Senses' signature minimalist style, using natural wood, wicker, and other materials and elements. The fresh blue and green color scheme creates a traditional and primal natural environment. The private pool offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali, is definitely worth a visit!
Six Senses Uluwatu has three restaurants: Rocka, serving local farm-to-table cuisine; Crudo, offering Japanese sushi and a bar menu; and Rocka Edge, featuring an open kitchen and a seasonally changing menu. Rocka Edge offers different delicacies throughout the year. Seafood, meat, and fresh vegetables are transformed into impressive dishes by the chef. The restaurant is the perfect spot in the hotel to watch the sunset. As dusk settles, enjoy the delicious food, fine wine, and stunning views of the red sky over the cliffs.
The hotel's Cliff Pool Villas perfectly embody the tranquility of Bali. These villas are dotted among lush vegetation, creating a truly beautiful setting. The hotel's architecture blends naturally with the surroundings, embraced by greenery while retaining local elements like Balinese huts and thatched roofs. Stone paths lead you through shaded courtyards, offering a sense of gentle serenity. The most beautiful part of the hotel, in my opinion, is the cascading infinity pool, resembling waves that cascade towards the endless horizon, where the water meets the sky, offering stunning cliffside ocean views. The resort atmosphere is simply amazing! At night, the sky gate by the pool transforms into a "Cinema Paradiso," providing a romantic backdrop for your holiday. It's truly fantastic!
