Camping in Siwa Oasis
I made the 10 hour drive (with a private driver) from Cairo to Siwa Oasis and discovered a land of pure bliss!
Siwa is in the western desert of Egypt and it feels like a completely different place. It has its own people (Berber-speaking Sudanic people) and they live in these really interesting mud houses.
There are a few sights to see in Siwa like the Cleopatra Spring, Fatnas Island (best sunset), Salt lakes (such a cool experience), Oracle Temple, Shali Fortress and many more.
I spent some time with a local guide who told me all about the history and local culture and I enjoyed my relaxed evenings at the boho campsite where you can choose air conditioned cottages or the simple fanned hotels. My camp provided breakfast and dinner which were always delicious and even though I was on my own, I never felt lonely.
There are different types of hotels and camp sites all around Siwa and they offer a calm and peaceful environment. There are also plenty of souvenir stores ones you enter the town side near the fortress and a few local restaurants.

A mystical healing journey from the city and salt lakes
#AprilTravelSupport Floating on the Siwa Salt Lake was truly an unforgettable moment. Floating on the vast and endless salt lake gave me a mystical feeling as if I was floating in space. The salt covered the surface of the lake, so it felt like I was walking on a sparkling salt floor rather than water. The sky and surrounding scenery I saw while floating above it were truly spectacular, and the light of the salt reflecting in the sunlight added to its beauty as it shone like a jewel.
In the silence of the surroundings, I felt like I had become one with nature, and the time I spent here was so peaceful and healing that it felt like time had stopped. The quiet and mysterious atmosphere of the Siwa Salt Lake gave me a special experience that cannot be compared to anything else.

Poetry, the salinity is 90, so it can all float!
#HawaiiFlightEvent Small and large pools each have their own charm. Small pools are cozy in themselves and feel like a personal space. They are in harmony with the surrounding nature and are perfect for dipping your feet in the water or taking a light swim. They have a small and simple charm, allowing you to spend more comfortable and leisurely time. Also, these small pools are often less visited by people and often retain their natural appearance.
On the other hand, large pools have a wide and open charm that matches their size. You can enjoy leisurely swimming or freely moving your body in the water, allowing you to do various activities. Large pools themselves provide more space for people and sometimes allow you to better appreciate the magnificent natural scenery. In addition to swimming in the water, large pools have the advantage of allowing you to feel the surrounding environment more spaciously and experience more nature.
Small pools provide personal healing, while large pools offer more active and diverse experiences. The two pools have different charms depending on their size and purpose, and the peace and vitality that can be obtained from each environment is special in itself.

Salt water floating in the city
#HawaiiAirlineEvent I enjoyed swimming in the oasis of Siwa. I could forget the heat of the desert and feel cool while soaking in the clear and clean water. The nature around the oasis was really beautiful, and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere there while swimming. The wind, sunlight, and quiet scenery I felt while swimming in the water were really fantastic. It was special to be able to have such a peaceful experience in the middle of the desert. In particular, it was even better because the water was deep and wide, so I could swim freely. Swimming in the oasis of Siwa was a special memory of my trip.

#HawaiiFlightEvent The salt lake had a truly unique charm. The color of the water changed depending on the depth of the lake, so in one place it was dark and deep, and in another place it was clear and bright. It was truly amazing to see all these colors constantly changing as they reflected the sunlight. Some areas were so deep that you couldn't see the bottom of the water, while other areas felt calm and peaceful. Floating in this salt lake with its various appearances allowed me to fully experience the wonders of nature, and the experience remained as a very special memory.

#HawaiiFlightEvent The Sea and Salt Lakes were a natural wonder in their own right. It was amazing how different areas of different depths and sizes coexisted in one lake. Some areas were small and deep, so they had darker colors, while others were wide and shallow, so they had bright colors. These various appearances harmoniously blended together, allowing me to fully experience the beauty of nature. The scenery, which changed like a painting as the water color changed according to the sunlight, was truly captivating. The Sea and Salt Lakes gave me a special experience just by floating in the water.

Salt lakes and their unique charm in every location.
The salt lakes in Siwa are fascinating because they come in various forms. Some are small and deep, while others are vast and seemingly endless. The water colors also vary, ranging from deep blue to light turquoise, and they change depending on the sunlight, creating a stunning visual effect. Among them, the lakes with deep, dark hues that seem bottomless are particularly mysterious. Despite being salt lakes, each one offers a completely different allure, making it enjoyable to explore and admire. I remember spending a long time marveling at their beauty. Make sure to find the prettiest spots!

#HawaiiFlightEvent The moment I immersed myself in the salt lake of Siwa, the feeling of the water gently pushing me up and floating on its own was so amazing. I didn't know the salinity would be this high, and I laughed because I didn't sink even though I pushed hard in the water. It was so comfortable that I felt like I was floating in the air, and the time I spent floating looking at the sky was an indescribable healing. As I let my body go to the water and floated without thinking, all the fatigue from the trip disappeared. It was a magical moment of nature that can only be felt in Siwa.

Egypt's secret paradise! The salt lake in Siwa Oasis.
There are many salt lakes of various colors in the city of Siwa near Libya. The salt lakes in the Siwa Oasis have a very high salt concentration, just like the Dead Sea, so you can float easily.
The salt concentration of the lakes is much higher than normal seawater, so your body will float naturally, so even if you can't swim, you don't have to worry. In addition, the salt is rich in minerals and is said to be good for the skin, so you can enjoy a spa-like feeling. It felt really good to float on the salt lakes and look at the blue sky!
Notes:
•Security information: Since Siwa is close to the Libyan border, please check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' overseas safety information before visiting to keep up with the latest security situation.
•Precautions when visiting the salt lakes:
Effects on wounds and mucous membranes: Because the salt concentration is very high, you may feel pain if you have a wound. In addition, it is also very irritating to mucous membranes, so avoid long periods of time in the water.
Splashes on the face: If water gets into your eyes, it will cause severe irritation, so be careful not to splash water on your face.
Avoiding independent activities: In case of an emergency, we recommend that you accompany a guide or driver.
•Clothing and belongings:
Swimsuit and cold weather gear: Since there are no changing rooms, it is convenient to wear a swimsuit and layer your clothes. Also, please bring cold weather gear as your body will get cold after entering the water.
Handling of metal products: It is recommended that you remove metal products such as accessories and watches beforehand to prevent corrosion due to salt.
Footwear: The area around the salt lake is unstable due to salt crystals, so it is easier to walk if you wear footwear such as beach sandals.
•Notes when traveling by bus:
In-car environment: The bus facilities may be old and the seats may be broken.
Toilet breaks: There are several toilet breaks along the way, but there are only a few simple shops.
Cold weather measures: The air conditioning inside the car may be strong, so bring a jacket to stay comfortable.
Siwa Oasis is a place that makes you feel like you're on another planet. The scenery in Egypt is completely different depending on the city, so I couldn't contain my excitement!

Reasons to go to Siwa😎 Siwa Salt Oasis🏝️
#Overseas travel
The reason I drove 10 hours from Cairo to Siwa!! It was to go to the salt lake...!! I happened to see a picture of the salt lake and fell in love with it, so I took the 20-hour round trip by land🤣
Siwa is a place with a quiet charm, unlike Cairo or other cities. There were fewer swindlers, no scams, and no rip-offs, so it was definitely less stressful~
It was December, so the wind was cold and the water was really cold... but I closed my eyes and got in😶 I'm a coward, so it took me ages to get in the water, but it was amazing that my body was floating😳
However, I wasn't feeling well at the time, and I get cold easily, so I couldn't stay in the water for long and had to get out after 1-2 minutes...🤣🥲
The water is really cold, so if possible, I recommend going before December😭
But the color of the water was really pretty at Siwa Oasis🏝️
There are so many lakes everywhere, so you can go to a place where there are no people and play
There's no entrance fee, but you have to pay for a tuk-tuk to get to the lake~

There are several salt lakes that produce table salt, and basket weaving is a local industry. The oasis is connected to Matrouh by road and has multiple trade routes linking it to Mediterranean coastal towns. It features temples and stone tombs from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. It's an excellent spot for photography, learning about history, and sightseeing.

The most beautiful emerald salt lake in the world
We arrived at the village of Siwa🏜️ after a 10-hour bus ride through the desert from Cairo, the center of Egypt.
Siwa Oasis is a quiet and beautiful paradise-like place that appears alone in the desert🏝️✨
Your body floats in the Dead Sea, and the salt crystals sparkle💎
The western edge of Egypt, the very frontier of the frontier, is Siwa Oasis in the desert. A beautiful emerald-green salt lake where you can experience floating like in the Dead Sea🩵
We took a long-distance bus from Cairo and then a tuk-tuk to the site🛺

Siwa Oasis
It's about an 8 hour drive from Cairo 🚘
I went to the area called Siwa because there is a so-called "Dead Sea".
The salt concentration is so high that you float on your own in this salt lake.
The ground is covered with salt blocks, and it really hurts to get into the lake if you get water in your eyes, so you have to slowly get in... 🏝️
It feels really strange because you don't sink.
I was told that Egyptians love the Siwa Oasis because it purifies the bad things in your body and cleanses your mind.
Also, the salt in Siwa is good for purification, so we decided to take it home with us. The guide and the driver packed a bag full of salt and took it home with us 😳 (the driver packed it in three big bags 😂) The only way to get to Siwa is by night bus 💦 I was a little hesitant to get on a night bus with other people, so I asked for a tour with transfer + hotel + sightseeing guide 🥰 #Fritaviwinter #Egypt #siwa #siwaoasis

🇪🇬Swimming in the oasis
The salt flats of Siwa Oasis are truly amazing. The endless white salt plains make you feel like you're on another planet.
Actually, swimming in the salt flats was the reason I came to Siwa, but the water was so clear and the salinity was so high that even if you can't swim, you can just float.
Even if you just walk in, your legs will float!
You have to be careful because the salt crystals are really sharp and you can hurt your feet, and the salinity is really high, so if you get even a little bit of salt water in your eyes, it'll sting really bad ㅠㅜ
The ride was so hard, but it was worth it!

It is said to be the easiest place in the world to lie flat
Coming to the must-visit salt lake in Xiva, it was scheduled for the next morning. Departing from the hotel, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the salt lake here, and there are dozens of them, large and small. You can pick one that looks more pleasing to the eye, and then find one that is easy to get into the water, and then you can have a close encounter.
It is recommended to bring your own swimsuit and slippers or crocs to prevent your feet from being cut by the rocks. Usually, fresh water is also prepared so that you can quickly rinse off with clean water after swimming.
Personally, I feel that if you can swim, the fear when going down will be slightly less, and then I accidentally tasted the water of the salt lake, it's really salty!
The scenic area is open for free, you only need to pay for the round-trip car fare, which is generally 600 for a chartered car per day, just for reference.

Egypt’s best kept secret: Siwa’s salt lakes
One of my favorite spots in Egypt!
Siwa is situated 50 kms. away from the border of Libya and is one of the most isolated places in Egypt; 10 hours away from Cairo by car/bus. Siwa´s salt lakes are not an easy spot to access but are definitely worth the hassle.
The views are out of this world and the scenery is so unique that you won’t regret the time spent to get there.
