The Lure of Siquijor…
Siquijor is pure paradise! This Mystic Island of Central Visayas might have a somewhat unsavoury reputation… (notorious for black magic, exacerbated by a popular film, it seems), but it is an experience not to be missed! Hop on a cute auto rickshaw and head to the picturesque beaches. Then seek out Cambugahay Falls and plunge into the refreshing pool! It was a day trip for us and we would have loved to explore more, but would we dare spend the night on the island? That’s still undecided…

My favorite beach in the Philippines
My favorite beach on Siquior island is the beach with the creative name "secret beach". As the name suggests, the Secret Beach in Siquijor is an off-the-beaten-path destination. Not a lot people visit it, so it's perfect place for you if you’re looking for a remote location to relax. 🏖️
🛵 To get here, you’ll have to rent a motorbike. From the parking lot, you’ll have to climb down a few stairs. Don’t get discouraged, the Secret Beach is worth the effort!
The beach is mostly rocky so it’s not suitable for swimming, especially during low tide.
📍 Location: San Juan, Siquijor island
🎟️ Entrance: No fee

Unfortunately service here hasn’t changed in 3 years and we need to stop giving the pandemic as an excuse now. At the end of the day the venue is in the F&B business and not giving out free drinks or food… I truly think no one cares in this place. We were greeted by “the kitchen cannot accommodate”. (It’s Saturday night, just hire more kitchen staff for crying out loud). After discussion and waiting for a while we were told we needed to order before a big table. It was the only good move of the night from service. Sisig was okay, Satay chicken had a good sauce, but the Kinilaw was prepared with smelly fishy fish. The staff didn’t ask us for food feedback although we left that dish practically untouched. We saw many people leave when they realized no food was available at 8-9pm. Does anyone care here? I think not.

island life in Siquijor
Island life? I had a taste of it. Thanks Siquijor for the amazing experience. We basked under the heat of the sun in some of the island's prestine beaches, enjoyed the appetizing meal of cafés with jaw dropping scenery and got to experience a life in a jungle where serenity and peace are at its best.

The mystic island of Siquijor
Siquijor is known throughout the country for its unique healing arts. Its centuries old tradition of concocting local potions is still being practiced and used as alternative medicine. Every year, traditional healers would gather in the island to “renew” their connection with nature and put together a fresh brew of local potion.
During the Spanish time, the island was called Isla de Fuegos or Island of Fire. The reason for this is that Spaniards who were exploring the Visayas area at that time noticed that the island is covered with twinkling lights during night time. But in reality, these were just fireflies covering the molave trees which are said to be their home.
The island is a serene place ideal for those who want to get-away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a haven for hikers, bikers and nature lovers. White sandy beaches cover the 102 kilometers of shoreline surrounding the island while mangroves and marine sanctuaries dot the island, providing a safe haven for its pristine marine life.

The Philippines are full of mind-blowing waterfalls, filled with crystal clear, vibrant milky blue water and even rope swings and bamboo rafts!amboo rafts!
The first sentence when introducing Siquijor in Lonely Planet is: "For most Filipinos, Siquijor is like a mysterious unknown magic world."
It is also true that I am a seasick person who is willing to come to this wild island. There are many beaches on the island, few people, and it takes an hour or two to ride a circle, but every time you can sit on the whole sea, you feel quite happy.
The resort I stayed in was staying on the beach. Because of the recent good weather, I can see beautiful sunsets every day, dance in the afterglow of the sunset, even if I can't dance, it is also a dancer.
Siquijor is an independent island located 30 km southeast of Negros, on the south side of Cebu City and Bohol Island, close to Dumaguete.
It is the third smallest island in the Philippines. The island has narrow floodplains and deltas. Most of them are mountainous areas formed by coral reefs and the coast is relatively flat.
There are rich and crystal clear waters, delicate white sands, rich and varied attractions, friendly residents, primitive and quiet natural environment, and suitable size for round-the-island tours.
This sunset hotel in the town, with a beautiful beach, is a beautiful sunset, with a separate pool.
This is not like living in a small island such as Maday. It faces the sea and the summer is very tired, and it will not be like the big island, such as Phuket. The Siji Hall can be beautiful everywhere. Let everyone enjoy every moment here.
When you come to Siquijor Island, you are not only attracted by the blue sky but also many churches, among which the Lahu Church is famous. It was built from coral stone and logs, and Augustine Priest-Institute Isidro Labra began building churches in 1857 and was completed around 1884. This is an ancient church with a history of more than 100 years. The Lahu church looks a bit rudimentary and worn and seems to give a mysterious feeling. On both sides of the road between Lahu Church and Lahu Monastery, there are many tall and bizarre big banyan trees. Their branches and leaves are connected with greenery. It is like a large green umbrella for the people who pass through. Living in the hot sun has created a cool world that is also pleasing to the eye. Faced with the walls of these coral stones, we can't help but take pictures here.
The Philippines has a hidden gem of an island that 99% of people don't know about
💚 Siquijor is one of the most easily overlooked treasures among the Philippine islands
💚 It is the third smallest island in the Philippines, occupying only 0.11% of the country's land area
💚 The island boasts breathtaking natural beauty and tropical charm
💚 However, compared to other islands, there is very little information about it online
💚 Next, let's introduce this romantic island to everyone
🏨 Accommodation
1️⃣ When visiting Siquijor, you must stay at Coco Grove Beach Resort!! On the island, there are only Coco and other hotels; no other hotel can replace it!
2️⃣ The resort has its own private beach where you can snorkel right at the entrance, with rich underwater ecological resources. You can see colorful fish, starfish, and corals, and if you're lucky, even large sea turtles~
3️⃣ In addition, the hotel has facilities such as a sunset restaurant, swimming pool, gym, bar, and game room. All staff are very warm and friendly, always greeting you and willing to help with any requests.
Recommended index:
✈ Transportation: The main way to get to the island is by boat from Bohol to Siquijor, with only one boat per day. If you have enough time, it is recommended to visit both Bohol and Siquijor together~
🖼️ Must-visit spots:
✅ Enchanted Balete Tree & Fish Spa: This over 400-year-old balete tree is one of the icons of Siquijor. Under the tree, there is a pond full of small fish where you can enjoy the scenery while having a fish spa
✅ Lazi Convent: This is the largest convent for women in the Philippines and one of the oldest convents in history
✅ Cambugahay Falls & Tarzan Swing: This is one of the most famous natural attractions on Siquijor, with layers of turquoise waterfalls flowing into the lagoon below, surrounded by green trees, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. To get to Cambugahay Falls, also known as the Milky Falls, you need to walk down 135 steps. The famous Tarzan swing is located here.
✅ Salagdoong Beach: This beach has the most beautiful jelly-colored waters on the island. The famous 10-meter diving platform is located on the rocks above the beach. Here, you can enjoy performances by divers from all over the world. This place is also one of the famous Instagram-worthy spots in Siquijor.

The Island of Beautiful Witches, Siquijor.
Siquijor Cambugahay Falls
You can swim, swing, ride bamboo rafts, take photos, and shoot videos. Siquijor is still a quiet and beautiful island that is not yet overrun by Korean tourists.
It's also a famous spot for freediving.
I recommend traveling to Siquijor.
How to get there: Take the OceanJet from Tagbilaran Port in Bohol.
Attractions: Cambugahay Falls, Tulapos Marine Sanctuary, Tubod, Sawang
Hotel: Quatros
Recommended food & restaurants: Skip Amor Restaurant
Shopping information: I don't shop
beach bites and waterfall wonders
Siquijor Island: Try tasty, affordable food while taking in the beautiful white sand beaches and scenic waterfalls. My review covers it all: good eats and gorgeous views. #SiquijorEats #BeachBites #FallsAndFlavors" Locals are also very friendly so you don't have to worry if you want to know specific directions.
PS. When it comes to food, most restaurants offer food platters that is good for 5-6 pax at a very affordable price.
PPS. You can rent a motorcycle for your day trips, or van/easyride at an affordable price. If you plan to book a van/easyride, you can enjoy the package, which means, you'll have your tourist guide who serves as your driver + you don't have to worry about where to go next! 🤭 #siquijor

very good place and easy people to hang out with. thankful and blessed of the place.
This was in bucafe in siquijor. A short scooter drive for an amazing view with drinks and food available. From here you can also get to the cave, viewpoint and waterfalls all within a 1 hour drive. The shop next door sells fuel so if you’re low they can help you fill up at a reasonable price. We stayed at casa paliton nearby and moved to angel wish which is also driving distance.
Where the sky and the sea meets
A wonderful place in the Philippines. Hailed as the Healing Island. Siquijor. Wonderful beaches, happy locals and amazing views. Truly, a magical place to get lost and wander.
I found my dream island in the Philippines!
When it comes to which country in Southeast Asia left the deepest impression on me, it's definitely 🇵🇭!
Here, the prices are cheap. There are chicken slaughters cheaper than Taelan's, and there's also the jellyfish sea that never gets boring. There are all kinds of top-notch diving spots! I really want to come here several times every year.
Here the Jellyfish Sea is really worth it! Even if you don't dive, it's still fun. You can island hop every day~.
Organized a few islands I've been to in the Philippines, hurry up and come down for the May Day holiday 🐎
Let's go~
& Siquijor: This small island is very interesting. You can rent a tutu car or charter a car to go around the island. There is a diving platform where locals often go. You can also do fish therapy under a big tree, and there are several beaches 🏖️ , I saw the most beautiful sunset here
🌄
& Sumilon Island: The famous one island one hotel, the island is very small, there is only one hotel on the island, there is a small trailing beach, the sea here is so blue and clear!
& APO Island: mainly for sea turtles, here is still sea turtle protection
At the base, you can see a lot of sea turtles by snorkeling 🐢, so cute!
& Oslob: You can see whale sharks by snorkeling here, but the whale sharks here are equivalent to semi-farmed. Residents come here to feed every morning, so you can see them every day
& Bass: The main reason is to go out to sea to see dolphins🐬, chasing🐬 depends on a little bit of luck, we went out to sea to chase dolphins that day very lucky. Hundreds of dolphins surround our boat and you can even see them jumping! Really surprised! !
❤️The seas in the Philippines are really worth a visit!!!
Siquijor the island of magic.
