Shanghai | Sinan Road, this is the real niche Western-style house plane tree area
🚗 Sinan Road, originally named Rue Massenet, was built in 1914. Just on August 13, 1912, a famous French musician Massener died in Paris. In his memory, the French Concession Public Bureau named this road Rue Massenet —— that is, Masnan Road. The surrounding area includes the French Park (now Fuxing Park), the Catholic Church of St. Peter to the south, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine (formerly the Second Medical University of Shanghai) and Guangci Hospital (now Ruijin Hospital), and the French School (now the Science Hall) and other famous landmarks.
🚗 The road is full of shady French plane trees and exquisite Western-style houses. In addition to the common characteristics of the small roads in the French Concession at that time, Sinan Road also has a unique attraction that is different from other roads: more than 20 garden-style Western-style houses, which have gathered almost all the residential styles of old Shanghai —— It is a living book of urban history.
🚗 As one of the 11 historical style conservation areas in Shanghai, Sinan Road records the 'original state' of the garden Western-style houses at that time: after passing Gaolan Road, all the way to Jianguo Road, walking on this section of Sinan Road, people seem to have returned to that year. The most important thing is that there are few people here, and it's really good for taking pictures. (There are many places to play nearby, if you are interested, you can also check out my citywalk route)
