[2025 Bintulu Attraction] Travel Guide for Similajau National Park (Updated Apr)

#malaysiatrip If you're in the the driving distance from Bintulu - including Miri where I am currently working at, this National Park is definitely worth the visit if you have the time to 1) drive to Bintulu 2) have an entire day to spend trekking and chilling at the beautiful beach at the end of the trekking. The trekking is fairly simple, but it's more challenging in the distance. It requires trekking for around 9km one way to reach the Turtle Beach II. And a little further to reach Golden Beach - which I haven't been to. I have been here three times now, and for all three times, the landscape of Turtle Beach II greatly differs depending on the weather and the season. When the time is right: sunny weather, and not monsoon season, the water is a pleasant surprise : pristine clear.

#travellerswonderland Highly recommended to walkers/hikers. The walk to Viewpoint is amazing and once there, the scenic view is simply astonishing. A friendly reminder though, as any other Tropical Jungle, you should bring along some mosquito repellent spray or just wear something that covers most of your body. Otherwise it can be quite unpleasant. Overall, it's still worth the hassle though. Have fun.

Similajau National Park, Bintulu is one of National Park manage by Sarawak Forestry Department. It is located about 30 kms from Bintulu City with about 45 minutes drive. This national park provides a very wonderful jungle trekking trek with 2 turtle beaches where places for turtles to lay their eggs and wonderful Golden Sand Beach.
