Suzhou's 61st Garden
Suzhou's 61st Garden: Dushu Terrace
Dushu Terrace was the place where Prince Zhaoming of the Southern Liang Dynasty read. The pavilion on the terrace was abandoned for a long time. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, the county magistrate rebuilt it, but it collapsed soon after. The succeeding county magistrate believed that the terrace should not be without a pavilion, so he rebuilt it again, but it was destroyed again.
In the 12th year of the Jiajing period (1533), County Magistrate Shen was about to leave office. He climbed the terrace and heard about the rise and fall of the pavilion, so he used his salary to build a new stone pavilion, set up a stone staircase, and asked someone to write an inscription for Dushu Terrace.
The garden also has other historical sites, such as Jiaowei Pavilion, Jiaowei Spring, Wugong Temple, and Yaji Pavilion.

Hidden beyond the city's hustle and bustle‖ Changshu Yushan Reading Platform
In the Reading Platform garden in Changshu, about twenty to thirty plum blossoms bloom in early winter. Through the contrast of red windows and white walls, and archways, the fragrance of plum blossoms and books blend, permeating an ancient atmosphere. In the garden, many retired elderly people like to play cards and drink tea here, feeling the intersection of the fragrance of books and flowers.
Although not many people come to this reading platform, even fewer people know about it. However, when the elderly were young, this was their place of entertainment. Among the residents of Changshu, few know about this hidden place. It is located on a small road behind the museum, hidden beyond the city's hustle and bustle.
This garden is open to the public for free, but it is little known. Friends who want to appreciate the plum blossoms can bring their family and friends to enjoy the beauty of the plum blossoms and taste the ancient book fragrance. Drinking tea, chatting, and playing, share this beautiful garden time with friends and family. In this quiet and ancient corner, it seems to return to the corridor of time, feeling the tranquility of time.
