After arriving at Naha Airport in the afternoon, I took the Yui Rail and got off near Shuri Castle. It was still under reconstruction, but there was a lot to see. I visited in late January, and the blossoms were at their peak, making the historic pathways even more picturesque. The park also offers great views over Naha, especially from higher points. Since it’s one of Okinawa’s most famous landmarks, it can get busy, but the large open spaces make it easy to find a quiet spot. I loved the mix of culture and nature here—walking through the historic grounds while admiring the cherry blossoms was a memorable experience.
