Best Things to DoNo.7 of Best Things to Do in Vladivostok

This Orthodox church was built in 1907 to commemorate Russian soldiers who died during the Russo-Japanese War. This is a two-story building. The first floor is built with natural stones, and the second floor is built with bricks or wood. It belongs to the Byzantine architectural style of cross-shaped structure and dome. The dome is plated with a shimmering gold, which gleams in the sunlight. It used to be the place where sailors lived, but now it is a place of worship for devout Orthodox Christians. Behind the Orthodox Church is the Arc de Triomphe, and on the west side there is a memorial wall engraved with the names of fallen soldiers. Russians come here to lay flowers when they get married to express their admiration for the heroic sacrifice of soldiers.
