Only held for 3 days from July 5th to July 7th! Over 100 decorations🤩 Introducing one of Japan's three major Tanabata festivals🎋 *Includes tips
It's already July!!
And then Tanabata comes soon🎋
When Tanabata is here, it feels like summer has begun!
This time, we will introduce the Shonan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival held in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, which is one of the "Three Great Tanabata Festivals in Japan" along with the Sendai Tanabata Festival in Miyagi Prefecture and the Anjo Tanabata Festival in Aichi Prefecture. 💡
One of the features of the Tanabata decorations in Hiratsuka is that they contain light bulbs🎋They are enjoyed during the day, but at night they shine brilliantly, creating a fantastic scene that is different from the daytime✨✨During the period, various events will be held, including a Tanabata decoration competition, a parade, stage events, and local gourmet food sales🍻
[Recommended visiting time]----
The recommended time to visit is around 6pm🕰️It's still hot and difficult during the day, but since the lights are on for Tanabata, I think it's best to visit when it starts to get dark! The image was taken last year around 6-7pm 📸 The lighting itself will be on until 8pm on 5-6 July, and 7pm on 7/7, so make sure you don't go too late ⚠️
[Buy this when you go to Hiratsuka] ----
If you come to Hiratsuka, you should definitely buy the "Miyako Manju" from Tsuruya Confectionery in front of the station, a Hiratsuka specialty ✨✨ During the festival, they only sell a set of 12, but they only cost 550 yen!! They're delicious and cheap manju!! They're popular, so you'll have to line up, but they make great souvenirs!
[Things to note when visiting] ----
First of all, it's super crowded! The station is also super crowded 😱
It's especially bad on the way back 💦
You won't have time to charge your phone, so be sure to charge it before you go!
If you're looking for a ticket, buy it when you arrive 🎫
----
That's it! Tanabata Festival is a seasonal event 🎋 If you have time, please go and check it out!
