Shisi Temple is located in Xier Village, Daji Township, Jingning County, on Baixiang Mountain, which is more than 1,000 meters above sea level. It is a religious building that combines Buddhism and Taoism, and is the main building in the Daliang ancient building complex. It was first built in the tenth year of Shaoxing in the Song Dynasty (1140) and was originally named "Shisiyuan". Liu Ji, the Earl of Chengyi, inscribed the door plaque "Shisi Daochao" for it. In the first year of Xuande, the courtyard was changed into a temple. It was renovated several times during the Qing Dynasty. It is quite large, with the Main Hall, Maitreya Hall, Sanqing Hall, Madam Ma's Building, Heart Sutra Bell Tower and Mei's Ancestral Hall. The Main Hall, Sanqing Hall and Heart Sutra Bell Tower are still in existence. They are all arched structures, beautiful and generous, with pillars and beams that can be hugged. The Great Hall is a five-room, four-entry, double-eaved, hip-and-gable wooden structure, all with four-elevated, two-stepped, double-down raised eaves. Experts from the Institute of Ancient Architecture have identified it as a building from the Song and Yuan dynasties. Inside the hall are statues of Sakyamuni sitting and the twenty-four devas, all in different poses and lifelike.A thousand-jin bronze Heart Sutra bell made in the Ming Dynasty is hung in the Heart Sutra Bell Tower.
